what the hell wrong with her! lol, if i get that much amount of money, i would keep my mouth shut

As she should.

She knew she'd have to repay it if she didn't fulfill her service obligations.

In the end, tough shit.

"I didn't feel like I could be a good officer if I didn't have integrity,"

Oh, bullshit.

^^ No, we shouldn't. She made a conscious decision to go against standing policy.

Like it or not, she must follow orders. Period. If she doesn't agree with them, tough - she should have thought of another career path.

No sympathy for her.

The rules are nazi-like and unfair. Welcome to America, bitch.. you know the rules and you broke them. Suck it up and pay.

Those are my taxes that gave you your education, the people of America should either get what they paid for or get paid back. Don't like the DADT law? Work to change it. But don't ask me to give you a free university education and not get anything back for it.

(for the record... I get that it's rough to find yourself in her situation and I'm being an asshole. I just get so sick of people acting like it's all about them. She knew the rules going in and she knows then now.

Nobody said she couldn't be gay... but the rules are that she can't talk about it.

I agree that this country is fucked. But it doesn't mean that I think she should get a free college education. If she gets away with it, countless broke kids are going to go that route... even straight ones. Free degree... go make some gay for pay porn and walk away from it.

Let's change the law. Not defend her.

I think I'm with the minority, although there are others who agree here, that she probably has what is coming to her.

I mean, if she knew before going to college that she was a lesbian, then she effectively defrauded the program by knowing she could get out of commitments in exchange for her education because of the DADT policy.

IF she challenges anything, you can be sure the ROTC/Army will play up that idea; that she willfully knew she could receive a free education and dodge the commitments needed for it by identifying as a lesbian.

There's nothing wrong with her being a lesbian, and the DADT policy needs to be repealed as quickly as possible; but if it can be proved that she willfully did this, then she's going to find herself in a lot of trouble.

Sounds like she's looking for publicity...

I mean, DADT is fucked. There's no two ways about it.

I agree with you and of course it's a fucked "regulation"......but incredibly simple to understand: KEEP YOUR FUCKING MOUTH SHUT.......
Simple....... :D

Aren't you like Canadian???? :confused::confused::confused::confused:

In Canada that wouldn't fly. Section 15.1 of the Canadian Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms would put a quick stop to that.

If you are Canadian, then don't say my tax dollars, and call for this woman's blood.

I live in Los Angeles and have for 5 years.

I also was born in the US and although I grew up and spent the majority of my life in Canada, to keep my US citizenship, I was expected to file a US tax return every year since I was 18.

So those ARE my tax dollars.

What??????

If you are born in the US, you are a ciitizen for life.

Yeah, so what. I was in the USAF. You kept your mouth shut.

She should have done the same. I don't agree with it, but right now it is what it is. The laws have to change.

So if i get this right, she signed up for the army, to pay for her education, and now that it's done, she thinks coming out will save her from having to serve? fucked up.

People trying to cashin on their gayness kinda ruin it for people who have real issues.

No, it depends on when...periodically the US has gotten snotty about dual citizenship and either eliminates it or places restrictions on maintaining it. I had a friend in Junior High who was American through one of his parents and Canadian through the other. He was told to expect a letter when he was 18 giving him a deadline to choose.

At the moment however, the States allows multiple citizenship as far as I know.

You can have multiple citizenship so long as you don't talk about it.

:p

That's closer to how I should have worded it. The point is that I've been filing and paying taxes in the US since I was 18 even though I've only lived here since I was 36.
