Let's not be too complacent about Hillary's chances

I think it would do all of us some good to remember that, with notable and few exceptions, politicians are people that went into public life because they failed at just about every other career they tried.

These politicians are there to give themselves big pay-raises, set up their own retirement plan, and take money from every special interest group that offers it. They snipe at one another, they attack dissenting thought, and generally do very little to move the country forward, except for approving the next bloated budget.

Talk about complacency. We anticipate the next election months in advance, and look at scenario's too numerous to count. Pathetic.

I can only hope that we are all watching the congressional record, speaking to our elected leaders, and providing comment to those officials with as much enthusiasm as we post to these sad little forum pages.

So, at what did Hillary fail in her life prior to entering politics? No, really! At what did she fail?

You're right about, some politicians. . . GWB, for one. But, I don't think you can say it about Hillary, as much as you may like to have some of your above speculation splash on her.

Hillary Clinton has been involved in public service her entire life and you would be hard pressed to find a "career" in which she failed. She was a successful lawyer who turned down all the high-paying job offers to provide free legal services to poor children and families. She was one of Arkansas' and America's most productive and active First Ladies and she has been an excellent United States Senator.

These politicians are there to give themselves big pay-raises...

I will remind you that Senator Clinton sponsored legislation preventing a Congressional pay raise until the minimum wage was increased. She also voted against the COLA for members of Congress. What's more, the royalties from her book sales were donated to charity.

Gee, Random, and Lance, I did not even mention her at all. I did note that there were few, notable exceptions. Whether she came to mind or not, what is with all the sensitivity?

Worried perhaps? Over compensating maybe? Time will tell.

My opinion was directed at any legislator that worries more about their next pay raise over the needs of their constituents. Which I think are far too many.

Nice try, Bob. You know as well as anyone that she's the topic of the thread. Your earlier post was obviously slanted towards her. Now, be so good as to back it up with cites.

You want me to use cites to back up an opinion?

Never mentioned her highness in my original post, simply my opinion about some politicians. Even noted that there were exceptions (which one might take Hillary to be).

Why don't you take your over-aggressive Clinton complex over to the DNC, and put all of that pent-up energy to use? I mean, come on, you started this bait-thread anyway!

Get off my back asshole!

Oh, my! Did we forget our meds today? :wave:Proud volunteer for the DNC here. And your back is certainly safe from me!

so cynical Bob

so cynical

it sounds like the crack (paraphrasing) that people who can - do and people who can't - teach

hope i'm not butchering that

washington is definatley not clicking on all cylinders

but i believe there are great men and women who make a diff - every day

i think we r jaded by what we see on tv - and what we read about - the emphasis is on the bad - it is

not saying there aren't probs - so many

but it pains me to read ur post - and ur complete disdain for those in dc - for all of them

i totally agree on ur last paragraph - totally

seems like a diff person wrote that one - if u don't mind my saying so
