Well, maybe I was being too cynical.

Just maybe Levi really wants to be a full time Dad in his daughter's life. Combine that with the money and fame and it's plausible that Levi did this of his own will.

But, make no mistake: I'm sure he was told in no uncertain terms what he was and wasn't to say to the media from now on... Probably not from Sarah herself, but from a team of her managers and marketers.

Image is everything in politics, and let's face it, Palin's followers aren't all that difficult to fool.

I don't think he originally lied. My theory is that he saw that his 15 minutes was quickly fading so he became desperate to get back with Bristol in attempt to restart what they once had. Doing that came at a price, by saying anything to regain the Palin's trust, so he lied about lying.

But now he's back out on the street, apparently nowhere to go in neither Alaska nor Hollywood, I kind of feel sorry for him because he likely will fade into nothingness. I mean, does he have any real talent, skill, or education? Oh well, there's always gay porn.

Anyone who has an opinion about the Palin family is going to believe whatever they want to believe.

I personally believe that she has no interest in being president or leader of the GOP. She's interested in making money for speaking, putting her name on books written by other people, selling T-shirts and commemorative plates.

There's more money in being a talking head than being an actual politician.

For all the snarky comments she had about how being a governor was like "being a community organizer except it has actual responsibilities," she doesn't WANT actual responsibilities... she wants to get rich and famous.

So did Levi Johnson. And both Sarah and Levi got famous and made money.

Discussing which one is telling "the truth" is no different than discussing whether Jake or Vienna is telling the truth or whether Jon or Kate was the worse parent.
