While I don't buy the technical difficulties story in this, I'm not sad to see this blog go.
It went from being a site with news to a site where almost everyone article was written with the purpose of attacking someone.
I won't be losing sleep over this blog seeing its end.

And I thought it was an April Fool's joke when the news was first bubbling on 1st April...

But like you, I can't say I'm sad to see it go.

Now where am I to go for my daily dose of unnecessary bitchiness?

I blame them for inflicting Davey Wavy on the gay world.

fuck 'em.

Oh god yes, that.

While we're on the subject: can anyone recommend some GOOD gay news/opinion blogs? I already subscribe to Towleroad and I don't really like Joe.My.God.

One thing I will miss:

They were one of the few sites not afraid to take on Regent/Here Media and expose them for what they are.

Con artists.

I have rss feeds on Google Reader and a couple of desktop feed readers and, there is rarely any gay news in any gay blog that I don't first see in my feed readers from The original source.

I continue to wonder who the fuck has to go to Queerty or Towleroad (or any of the other "gay" blogs) to get news that is in the fucking New York Times?

It is one thing to add you own take on an item first reported in the NYT or the Washington Post etc., but to just fucking quote the NYT with a link to the NYT article ... what's the fucking point? Do people not have feed readers?

With respect to Queerty and The Regent Scandal, it is extremely important to note that Queerty failed to realize that Regent and Here are two completely separate legal entities. Queerty was reporting on the lawsuit against Regent as if Regent was the parent company of Here - which is not the case.

What continues to fucking piss me off personally is that neither Queerty, Towleroad nor any of the other "gay" blogs bothered to blog about The Bryan Kocis Murder / Harlow Cuadra Trial as it was happening. All they did was link to articles in mainstream newspapers. AND YET, if you searched Harlow Cuadra on Google, for the longest time the top results were Queerty and Towleroad - neither of which had anything original about the story.

^I know that Regent and Here are set-up to appear to separate, they are still very much connected.

Much like CBS Worldwide and Viacom/MTV are separate but connected.

That's very poor marketing.

First you announce you're closing - people delete their bookmarks.

Then you announce you're returning.

But, who is going to see the announcement?

Unless you get exposure on a board like this, who's going to know you're back?

^ I removed them from my RSS reader as soon as I read the news. And I highly doubt they'll make a re-appearance.
