LGBT movies that just plain suck.

Brokeback Mountain...

Typical Hollywood blather... two men fall in love... have to keep it secret... then one dies end of story... so overused and pointless... plus it was waaay overhyped... only because they picked two hot rising stars to be in it...

YAWN

Last weekend i rented "Broken Sky" at Blockbuster, what a waste of $5! It was a Mexican film about two guys in college who are lovers, and one of them loses interest and wants some other guy. PLENTY of nudity, some hot guys, but no real storyline. There was also hardly any dialogue at all in the entire film!

a vast majority of gay movies are pretty craptastic. they either really weird, really depressing, really cheap, or just plain bad.

There was one. Love Is The Devil. I hated the movie being made.

Delta. Hated the chemistry.
Adam And Steve. Hated the chemistry.
Big Eden. Did not see the chemistry.
Lan Yu. Hated the older guy.

Without doubt Beautiful Thing. Probably the most boring, uninspired flick I have ever seen. The trials and tribulations of two hard scrabble Cockney boys who seem to (miraculously) blossom into loving gay boys simultaneously. Their families are (not surprisingly) completely fucked up, divorced, abusive, the whole canon of bullshit. No sex...no real plot. Just plain stupid, vapid and a total waste of time and money!

With naked men, who needs a good storyline. lol

My previous post was just a joke. But I was wondering if you guys think gay movies suck because the creators try too hard to make the movie gay instead of concentrating on actually making the movie good?

Agreed. It's sad because a lot of these movies are made by fellow gay people yet they don't seem to be taking themselves or their intended audience seriously.

Typical? What? How does what you describe qualify as a typical hollywood movie? Please list how many other movies are about 2 closeted men who fall love and one dies at the end. Let alone one that has 2 mainstream actors that were courageous enough to do it. I'll give you a prize if you can name more than one other movie.

You don't have to like the movie. But at least give reasons that aren't based on false accusations.

A Home At The End Of the World..... Rent.... It's My Party.... Rebel Without A Cause.....

My point was that such big budget films always have one of them dying in the end... the only ones where both remain a couple in the end are indie flicks... in Hollywood gay men are either destined to die of AIDS or a gay bashing... end up alone... or are for comedic value.... which is why I couldn't stand this piece of crap.... because it followed that formula... Hollywood's cyclical gay formula....
