Wow, quite a while since I've been logged in here. So many things have changed in my life and boy, it's been a rough ride.

Last thing I really remember from here was getting ready to move back to Arizona for what I thought would be a permanent move. All in all, it was a disaster in the making that I was blind to due to being so smitten and unable to see much else. I made that move back in July 2011.

I moved back to a town with Bruce, the man I was seeing at the time and took back over my old job, even got a promotion very shortly thereafter. Things started off great, then progressively turned into a complete nightmare. The final straw was abuse in the physical form which landed him in jail. I stayed in the area with family until April of 2012, taking a job offer to work as a call center supervisor for Citi Card Services in Kansas City, MO. What a joke that turned into.

I got to Missouri end of April 2012, started the new job a week later in May. I last all of a month before they outsourced my job and quite a few others, then 6 months later then entire location was closed. So, all in all - not the best decision made. I made due, finding work at a hotel the same day I was let go and remained with that hotel until March of 2013. The dating scene there was a real nightmare.. but, that can be said of anywhere. Really just depends on personal experience, I suppose.

Once again, the idea of a wonderful job opportunity was waiting for me in Dothan, AL. It was well worth the move, because it would allow for more growth. Soon as I got to Dothan, leaving the 2' of snow behind in Kansas City for warm, sunny weather in Alabama, I was informed the GM of the hotel I would be starting at was fired and with that, my job was eliminated. Okay. Twice now I've been lead on and hung out to dry. Oh well, regroup and move on.

I eventually found a job working for an rv dealership thanks to the guy I started seeing and while it wasn't the greatest job, it would help me get by until I could find another hotel to work for.

Now, in the end of May, beginning of June I started getting sick and blamed it all on allergies and my sinuses as I am prone to problems. I also noticed swelling in my right testicle and was treated for what they believed to be epiditimytis. Swelling went down some, but never went away. Things would get worse before they got any better. The night of July 10th, I felt really ill and wanted to just sleep it off, thinking the extra sleep would help alleviate the problems. Well, for the most part it did.

At 430 the next morning I woke up to a little pain in my right testicle. At that point in time, it was a 2 on the pain scale. Got up and went to pee, took a few aleeve and laid back down. When I laid down the pain jumped to a 10 on the pain scale. I fought with it, but eventually woke the bf up to take me to the hospital. At 6am i got there, at 8am they did an ultrasound of both testicles and then at 930, we had an answer. It was cancer. I had a mass that had formed in a matter of 7 weeks time inside my right testicle, causing the sick feeling I had been dealing with and weakening my immune system. I had to have surgery and they said I would have it done at 1030 that morning, which it did happen. At 2pm I was out of recovery and on my way home, with a 4 week healing time - meaning 4 weeks of pure boredom being stuck at home.

The next step in the process was seeing my surgeron, which I saw on the 23rd of July. Everything was alright, it came back as a non aggressive form of testicular cancer. I would then go through 15 days or three full weeks of radiation to eliminate any possible spreading that may have occurred. I finished out the treatments September 3rd, and haven't looked back.

On my follow up visit on October 2nd, I was deemed as in remission with a quarterly check up to ensure I'm staying healthy and my tumor markers aren't elevated anymore. I also was hired on at the hotel I currently work for that very same day, so all in all good things came all at once, so it seems.

I'm a full time night auditor during the week for a Comfort Suites here in Dothan, AL & I'm a full time accounting major through University of Phoenix's online Bachelor of Science Degree program. I live and help out on a gay clothing optional campground, Lizard Landing. Quite the experience and has lead to some life long friendships being made. I've also gained a much better perspective on life with everything that has gone on. I've FINALLY learned something! Imagine that! :)

I've been seeing Jay since December of late year and it's been quite nice. He stood by my side through the surgery, the treatments, and all the things I've had to endure the past year and a half.. I shall attach the most recent picture we have of the two of us.

In closing, here's a makeshift summary for those of you that are interested in what's been going on in my life. What a mess, whew!

You had quite a journey! Glad to hear that you survived these ordeals and are in a better place. Thank you for sharing. Regards.

w0w! You're right, what a rough ride you've had!
I'm glad you've come through everything with good spirits -- you've been through enough to get anyone down. I'm also glad that you are in remission. And best of all, you've got Jay! ..|

Thanks for that update. I needed to read something like that just to put my own problems into perspective.

Glad you hung in there even though it seems that you had it rougher than normal and more than your fair share of troubles.

Best regards to you and your Jay.

David.

Thank you kindly for your comments.

@Limenade: Yeah, my inability to not trust so much has gotten me into some tricky situations, but I've come out of it alright.

@Jake: It indeed has been rough, but helps me gain perspective and put my life back on track. I wasn't alone through the ordeal and can really say it helped me that much more, made it much easier..

@Dpnice: It's ramblings, really. Just giving a short summary on the last few years since I left Arizona. Im glad it could help someone. Life has definitely been less than stellar, but helps me look at the bigger picture.

Trying to fight off a sinus infection, on antibiotics and had a shot of steroids to kick it out of my system.. so, this has been a relatively lousy week. In time, it'll be fine.. Be glad when spring gets here! LOL

Regards,
Cody
