On the Prowl
I am so Pope-d out right now. Over the years I have worked on many television show and special projects. I was on duty when Anwar Sadat was assinated. I was on three phones coordinating news coverage when the Challenger shuttle exploded. I even worked five 20 hour days straight when the 92 quake hit Los Angeles. But nothing compares to what I am feeling now that Pope John Paul is being buried. To keep our sanity, those of us in the control room have taking tomaking rather bad jokes about the Pope. I have nothing but the utmost respect for the church and the Pope. But I am totally exhuasted with our coverage of his death and the ceremonies that have followed. Sigh...I can't wait til my vacation-to be away from TV, cel phones, pagers and CNN is going to be nice.
