Lil' Kim Discussion Thread

I about freaked out that Kim could have performed Lady Marmalade tonight on PCD. That is one of my fav songs. Did you watch it Biggie?

You're damn rights I watched it!!

Kim looked hot, and I LOOOOOVED how she got attention from the other judges.

Go show them how its done Kim!

*music starts playing*

LOL oh that made my night!

Diddy Praises Lil' Kim's First Post-Prison Rhymes: 'She Ain't Miss A Beat'
Pair reunite for 'Last Night' remix with Busta Rhymes, Keyshia Cole.

Diddy and Lil' Kim were a part of so many hit records together, you wouldn't think that it has been more than a half-decade since they worked together. The pair haven't teamed up since 2000's Notorious K.I.M., and on Wednesday, not only did their time away from each other end, but Kim's hiatus from rapping altogether ceased.

Diddy debuted a remix of his hit single "Last Night" on his MySpace page that features Keyshia Cole, Busta Rhymes and Lil' Kim. It's the first time the Queen Bee has been in a song since coming home from prison last summer (see "Lil' Kim Released From Prison").

"Yeah, it was good getting back with her," Diddy said Wednesday. "We got everything on point [with our friendship] right before she went to jail. When she got out, I was right on the phone with her and we were talking about doing something. We got history together, and it was only right that the first song she's done since she's been out was a joint I produced. She's on a big hit record. She's sounding good and strong. I'm a witness. I was in the studio with her. She ain't miss a beat. She wasn't rusty or nothing. She stepped it up and was even doing some singing too. Her bounce is classic and it's necessary. She definitely is the queen of the game."

The beat of the record is different from the album version, recalling Prince's "Erotic City." Lil' Kim and Diddy start the song off by telling fans to use the song for their ringtone, and then Kim tells a story of turning the tables on a boyfriend who's making her miserable.

"Just left the club in ATL/ Message on my Blackberry and my cell," she raps. "Go outside check the voicemail/ N---a said, 'I'm mad as hell'/ When I was locked up you ain't visit me/ Nope, not one letter sent to me/ You was in the streets playing P.I.M.P."

^ love Kim on this, but still wished she would have been included in the female version that has Remy Ma, Trina... and I 4get who else right now...

Yeah, that would have been cool! Jacki-O was the other girl on it!

I dunno though, I almost like the fact that she was put on the one with guys. It makes her stand out more.

But I definitely think she needs another all female track soon. Ladies Night was 10 years ago...its long over do for another!

I think Kim should stay away from another all ladies song. Kim is the only good female rapper out right now. A song with Remy, Jackie and Trina would get no radio play. Plus, Kim is too big for those rejects.

^ while I do agree....at the same time its kind of like that kind of attitude is what is killing hip hop.

Kim is the Queen, she knows it, the industry knows it. But its this heirarchy that is killing it. You have to be hot at the moment to work with certain artists and its totally making things more about money rather then making good music!

As long as Kim is making hot songs and continues to outshine everybody else on the track then its all good with me!

OMG OMG OMG!!!

I can't even believe it!!

I get back from camping this weekend and what is waiting for me? Yes its true....

I'm pretty sure this one is called Let It Go it is with Keyshia Cole & Missy Elliott!

The song samples Biggie's "Juicy" to be completely honest...the only part I really like is Kims verse. The song will have to grow on me. But I guess its a good slow song!

CW network has comfirmed that Lil' Kim will be returning for the second season of Search for the Next Doll.

This season is setting out to form an entirely new group instead of just a single singer to add to the current one.

From what it looks like, the application focuses a lot on Rap and Hip-Hop, so I'm sure Kim will have a much bigger part in the show this time around!
