Lil Kim's response to Nicki's diss track - "Black Friday"

Oh yeah. You are right. They rap nothing alike. Kim has better flows and doesn't resort to an idiotic gimmick to put over her raps.

I appreaciate your honestly in admitting I'm right.
Lol @ Kim having a better flow. Ha. I laugh.
You sound mad though. Are you okay?

^^^

Number one : I didn't forget that appearance. I said "interviews" and "all the time". Read carefully. My point is/was Kim wasn't dolled up with the wigs and barbie persona every where she went like Nicki.

Number two : She has taken it to a another level. Her gimmick is a constant thing. Whether it's an interview, appearance, concert, award show, or a random viral video. I'd like to think that qualifies as "taking it to another level."

Number three : Like I said, the content of Nicki's lyrics is nothing like Kim's. All Kim used to rap about was being a ho and the flow is very much relevant. Her flow is a major reason why Nicki is so popular, aside from her gimmick.

Number four : You're using how she portrayed herself in a video to refute my statement of Kim's image being more "sexed-up" than "dolled-up"? Uhm. . . yeah. Lol. I laugh. Try again.

Kim had better flows because of the ghost writers she used. It wasn't her actually coming up with those rhymes. lol

I never said no one owes anything...what i'm saying is because Kim is a legend..Nicki needs to stay in her place, & respect that.

Like I said before thats like Ney-yo, usher, robin thicke, r.kelly the list goes on...trying to say they are better than Michael Jackson....You NEVER heard MJ or saw MJ go up against James brown....although he was better than him & James had his day....that never happened.

Its all about respect its not about whose better whose hot whose not...without Lil kim...nicki nor any other female rapperwouldn't even be where she's at.

Rappers are different than singers in the sense that most of them brag about being the best. Trina calls herself the baddest bitch, and Diamond brags about how she's better than everyone else. It's just the way you come up in the game.

Nicki has shown Kim respect many times during interviews and payed homage to her. She remained silent for a long time despite the fact that Kim was going to every radio station she could find to trash Nicki. At some point Nicki had to respond back to her and she finally did with Roman's Revenge.

MJ embraced Usher, Chris Brown, and Neyo etc. He didn't get jealous and become enraged because of their success. A true legend is honored they inspired another artist or generation. Do you see Patti Labelle going after Fantasia? Or Madonna attacking Lady Gaga?

The problem with Kim is she's not happy with herself. She's beefed with just about every female rapper who's received more attention than her or became mainstream. She even admitted that she wanted to piggyback off of the success of Nicki in one of her recent interviews. I guess she thinks that Black Friday will do the trick but I'm afraid that it's only helping Nicki's momentum. She's damn near 40 years old and still up to her old games. I don't know who's advising Kim but they should be fired immediately. Instead of all this negativity she should be releasing some good quality work.

Oh, you're one of those guys. Okay, i'm going to waste only one more post on you, and after that, you can go ahead and be "right". I'm no longer dealing with children on this site.

Ok, interview.

All the time? Yes, Kim is almost always in a wig. No, Kim is not always looking like this:

But neither is Nicki, as evident here:

Here:

And here:

And if any of the three listed are over the top "barbie" for you, i can just dump the front page of what i've seen of Kim here too. The point being, neither one were ever or are ever "all the time" - you just happen to like Nicki more.

See reply number 1.

You haven't explained how Nicki's lyrical content, such as this:

Doesn't compare to Kim's lyrical content, such as this(even though i hate this song):

Now, comparison isn't bad - there's all sorts of female rappers that are raunchy. But to sit there and say they don't compare with an inability to back it up is just like stay the grass is grey because you can't see the color green.

Oh, and one more thing? Kim is actually a lot more varied than you want to give her credit for; she didn't talk about dick all the time. In fact, her REAL M.O. is money. Expensive cars. Furs. Diamonds. Even flirted with "mafiaso" ties(La Bella Mafia). So again I ask, have you really followed Kim's career?

I only named the one video out of all the things I said - I could name several others. But based on what i've read from you, why bother? You think you're right; if that victory matters to you, you are more than welcome to it. My only hope is one day, you go back, and learn.

I honestly stop reading after the second line. Ta ta. :)

It's real simple to me: Nicki's entire image is copied and pasted from Lil Kim's early stuff.

Pretty much. I'm not really up on Nicki's music but when I first saw her, I immediately thought of Lil Kim and the "Crush On You" video.

Kim's gimmick was not being a "barbie" everywhere she went. Nicki's is. She's always in a colorful wig to match the colorful personality. Kim wasn't like that. In fact, I don't think I remember Kim doing interviews and whatnot in random colorful wigs all the time. . . if she did please link me to the video footage.

This is why I say new and improved. Nicki has taken the "barbie" thing to another level.

Lol @ same raps. They rap NOTHING alike. The style, flow, and the content is all different.

Obviously Nicki's image was influenced by Kimberly, but Kims image was more sexed-up than dolled-up.

Good and fair assessment. You have to tip your hat to Team Minaj because they've successfully jumped on the Lady Gaga bandwagon. I hope the focus will eventually be on Nicki's skills as an MC but in the Twitter age, that's not gonna happen. ;)

If all it look to be hot was to copy Gaga, you'd thinking the multi platinum Aguilera or plain weird Kelis would be popping.

What I meant was that Nicki's team decided to make her the black Lady Gaga. I mean no offense by that but they clearly needed a hook since female MCs aren't consistently successful as their male counterparts. IMO if Lady Gaga never came to prominence, Nicki wouldn't be sporting these colorful wigs...

Foxy is speaking in another language, talking about "First a bitch wanna hate on Foxy/ Ten years later now she hating Minajie"

She didn't really look like Gaga until before her album, and even before she started to go avant garde, she was already the star on Bedrock, My Chick Bad, etc. And the difference between Gaga and Minaj is that Gaga will wear a meat dress (asexual), and Nicki's flatter her form.

Nicki also has a playful personality, Gaga's act with the Fame Monster is always about being enigmatic, dark, with silly morbid rants.

No argument here but that doesn't change my view that Team Minaj is jumping on the Gag bandwagon. It's nothing personal against Nicki because that's how the record companies operate (capitalizing on trends). I just heard Nicole Scherzinger's new song and IMO her label wants her to sound like Rihanna.
