Lincoln (Spielberg's movie)

Re: Lincoln

Daniel Day-Lewis is one of my favorite actors. I'll definitely see this.

Re: Lincoln

It does look good. Nice to see Spielberg doing something like this.

Re: Lincoln

What??? He's not slaying vampires?

Re: Lincoln

Early prediction that this film will lead the list of Oscar nominees next year, and will likely make a sweep of the trophies.

Re: Lincoln

That's not fair. Jean Dujardin won an oscar for a created role just this year.

I think this looks good. Great even. It's cool the Americans are bringing the old styles of storytelling back.

Lincoln The Movie (Long, boring but still Oscar worthy)

I saw Lincoln months ago the first day it premiered @ the Box-office..I didnt review it then because it didnt move me enough to do so, I'm reveiwing it now because it garnered 12 Oscar Nods this morning......

Did anyone else think Lincoln was absolutely positively boring? Daniel Day Lewis is arguably the Greatest Actor we’ve ever witnessed in modern cinema and his performance will grant him his 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] Oscar and he deserves it..Sally Field’s amazing performance should win her a 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] Oscar because she’s a Force and no one could do justice to that role but her. Tommy lee Jones was superb as always and based on his fellow Oscar nominees he's got tough competition for the Supporting Actor Battle come Oscar night… But Spielberg’s telling of the Historical debate was just boring to me. Black slaves were sprinkled here and there and even the most famous Abolitionist, Frederick Douglass went missing…

Love the Lead players and they did their thing but over-all the Movie was BORING and I was glad when it ended…I nodded a few times which is rare for me to do…All the same, “Lincoln” is bound for Oscar Glory….

Re: Lincoln (Long, boring but still Oscar worthy)

^The film was sufficiently "whitewashed" which angered quite a few people.

I love Danny Day-Lewis but Speilburg's SCHMALTZiness and distortion of the facts just make me bilious!

Kind of ironic that as Disney was in on the production of Lincoln, an autoanimatronic version of Lincoln appeared at the 1964 World's Fair and later transferred to Disneyland. The updated version is awesome!

Considering the scope of the movie, Lincoln's embellishment can be forgiven. When one reads about an event, it's very easy to say yah-uh-huh. However when it's fleshed out on the big screen much of the emotional impact of the Civil War becomes real.

Oscars? Who knows? The Academy likes big, grandiose films so Lincoln has a chance for Best Picture, but Argo might be the "dark horse." Lincoln? I thoroughly enjoyed it. Tommy Lee Jones stole the show. Some day soon, i'd like to see all the Lincoln stuff in Springfield.

Saw this at the $2 movie theater. Daniel Day Lewis better win best actor.
