I just saw her sobbing on her lawyer's shoulder on TV.

I don't know why I feel bad for her, but I kinda do...

So did Jim Belushi, Anna Nicole Smith, Janis Joplin and countless other talented people who have died from their addictions lucky. Money has nothing to do with addiction, you could have more money than God, but if you're in the grip of an addiction it's still the fight for you life.

But do these people deserve more pity or love for their lives than any other person who is also addicted?

Exactly. Why does she deserve MORE sympathy than those people? B/c she's famous?

No one cares about the addicts that end up on the street. We want them put away and to pretend like they don't exist.

Most of us have the basic right to deal with ours privately. Just because it's being dealt with on a public stage doesn't negate the fact that addiction has no easy cure, no matter how much money you have in the bank.

Being on that stage puts her on the same level with every other celebrity, but not every celebrity is addicted to drugs.

I don't hate this lady. I don't even know this lady. I hope she is able to kick her addiction, however I'm not about to fawn over her while she tries. I don't do that for every random crack head that I cross paths with and I won't do that for her.

oh, im guessing you have not been to europe or asia at all. it's all relative once you visit 2nd world/3rd world countries, and even more open 1st world countries.

It's been a while since I've been to Europe,but from what I remember, they don't fuck around with people driving drunk.I've always understood their penalties are much more severe than the U.S. -Hell, even in Canada,a D.W.I. is a felony..

Same can be said for many low-income youth from disadvantaged neighborhoods yet they never get any sympathy and are given the harshest punishments.

Don't see anyone crying over them. And they don't have the fancy lawyers or opportunities of rehab.

I normally don't get involved in the heated celebrity debates.I agree with you though.Everyday,poor people who can't afford representation are sentenced to lenghty jail sentences for lessor offenses.The girl has a serious problem and right now, jail may be the best place for her..

If she does the ninety days, that will be a good start to her sobriety..

How about sparing an ounce of pity for the innocent people’s lives she put in danger through her actions?

That is what this is about. If she had a shitty life (oh the trauma of being a celebrity millionaire, poor thing), then fine, lets pity her. But the pity DIES when she starts putting other people’s lives in jeopardy.

Let’s say worse had come to worse; let’s say she had actually killed somebody while on one of her drunk-driving escapades. Are you still going to throw her a pity parade?

This spoiled brat got off so fucking easy -- in more ways than one.

Attend a MADD meeting some night. Speak to people who’ve had their lives eviscerated by some spoiled chit stumbling behind the wheel of her daddy’s car. Then take a good long look at Lohan.

The thing that pisses me off the most about this is that she had every opportunity to get the help she needed. Holey fuck people, she was ordered by the COURTS to get the help she needed.

And she gave them a big middle-finger.

I think it is all one big publicity act....the drugs and the lesbianism. She would be half as famous if she walked a "normal" path. It shows the great lengths people will go to to be a star.

Something needed to be done but it looks like she will not go the full 90 days due to overcrowding in the jails there. I dout she will change her ways once she gets out, but one can hope she gets her life together.

Well said. That's exactly how I feel. If she was truly sorry, she could have engulfed herself in therapy and and put acting on hold for a time. It's not like she was starving and needed income.

And let's be honest, 90 days is nothing. She could have killed someone. I think she's very fortunate to have received the sentence she did.

I am reading what people are writing and I didn't think anyone cared. I could care less if she goes to jail or gets clean or if she makes another movie or just disappeared. I just though the "fuck you" on her nail was funny. Who really cares?
