GTA IV. It's unreal.

And for strategy, Total Commander.

I bought Makai Kingdom for my bf for Christmas... he's been playing it none stop since then and loves it...

It's made by the same company that made Disgaea... and also shares similar characters...

How about Twister?

If you mean Supreme Commander, I agree (although I still like it's predecessor Total Annihilation a lot more).

Recently I played:
X-Men Origins: Wolverine - bloody action game with a few rpg sidekicks (character development) .. fast paced and a lot of fun! no big replay factor though.
The Chronicles of Riddick - Assault on Dark Athena: not bad .. but also not good so far (not through yet) decent graphics though (doom engine I guess).

The Dark Eye - Drakensang: real rpg after the pen and paper the dark eye. very good if you like real rpgs, with groups, skills, dice throws and all that stuff :)

a bit older:
Mass Effect - rpg/3d shooter/adventure mix liked it very much, quite similar to the knights of the old republic series

What gaming console??? Or did I totally miss that in the original post?! !oops!

So you've played Oblivion, what about Morrowind?

Might and Magic VII: Day of The Destroyer - A basic RPG and my favorite game ever. It's outdated and I can really only play it because of nostalgia but it's still great. Actually, look into the whole M&M series. They're older but still great.

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines - A dark RPG. You play as a recently created vampire roaming the streets in California. It's really buggy but it's got an enormous underground following that puts out unofficial patches because the original game company went bankrupt.

Fable: The Lost Chapters - An awesome RPG! Look into that! You play a young boy who actually ages through the game and every choice, ability, etc. changes your appearance. You can go good or evil.

I can't explain them in a way that does them justice. I think they're all great games worth looking at.

Corny  Harke

Other all time favorites are Dungeon Keeper and Sid Meijer´s Alpha Centauri, though you might have trouble playing those on a contemporary OS.

No, I didn't. I got sick and tired of constantly running out of fatigue, and the last time I played it was when I was 14 so I was too impatient to walk everywhere.

You can spend forever on that game. I´ve been obsessed by it for years. It is terribly buggy, though.

Did you get any of the Oblivion expansions?

Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2. If you like D&D, you'll LOVE Neverwinter, I cannot stress how much fun it is.
