It is worse than that: they have blinded themselves to, and then also cut off any unpleasantness that might cast shadows over (that is, ruin) their big business.
And it that case it would not do the critique one may throw to the critiques of, say, the Qatar WC, about Qatar merely doing the same that the Western world ever did and keeps doing, only more openly, in a more unfashionable, "old-fashioned" despotic way, and, most important, with a far smaller country size to cover i up: nobody asked Disney to put the focus on a pile of shit and litter and then make of it pretty Disney figures covered up with glitter and wrapped up in cellophane.
