Suggest movies you enjoy, but only little known or independent movies.

If you feel like it say a little about the film and why you liked it.

Also feel free to add a link to the movie from www.IMDB.com

The Red Violin (1998) aka Le violon rouge

The movie is in French and English. Very good movie and to me a great love story.

This Is My Father (1998/I)

Great film with some great actors.

-------------------------------------------

The Right to Remain Silent (1996 TV Movie)

This is based on a play that can have changing characters. I would love to see the play since I liked the movie so much. This has an all star cast, but the story itself is enough to watch for.

---------------------------------------------

Moon Shot (1994 Documentary)

This is my favorite documentary I have seen. It is about the start of the space program. I Highly recommend this if you can find it to anyone that is into the subject.

The "I Love You" films aka:

Paris, je t'aime(2006) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0401711/combined
New York, I Love You (2008) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1456606/combined
Rio, I Love You*(2014) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0808399/combined

Great movies made up of short interlocking stories. Each of the movies have an all star cast and well known directors and writers. There are also two planned films that have not came out yet and a TV show that I have not seen.

Last night we watched Sordid Lives, which I thought was pretty good. It's from 2000, but I had not heard of it before. Since my brother and I are originally from Texas, we found the Texas humor to be pretty funny, but it may only have regional appeal.

THE RED VIOLIN is a good one.

A Picture of You

This is going to be rather un-PC, but . . . the characters consist of an Asian-American brother/sister, a white male and an African-American female. Often this would feel forced, or contrived, but here there was none of that. It just worked! The tension between the brother (whom I found rather good looking) and sister is very well done.

That sounds really good. I will have to check it out if I can.

I thought the movie was okay. I saw it a week or so after I saw the play it is based on. The play is quite fun.

One of my favorites and why I miss video stores. I found it on one of my two hour wonderings around the store after work right after Hollywood Video opened for the day. I would pick a few videos that covers spoke to me and that was one of them on my many trips.

Lars and the Real Girl (2007) - This little movie really draws me in. Ryan Gosling is superb in it. It's an emotional, touching and quirky film. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

MY LEFT FOOT: THE STORY OF CRISTY BROWN, with Daniel Day-Lewis;
PIECES OF APRIL, with Katie Holmes;
FAR FROM HEAVEN, with Julianne Moore;
THE STATION AGENT, with Patricia Clarkson;
FEMALE PERVERSIONS, with Clancy Brown.

I have been meaning to watch this for years.

One of my all time favorites. :luv::luv::luv:

Sometimes known as The Orkly Kid

Moon w/ Sam Rockwell.

This movie recently got put on Netflix, saw it in Theaters on initial release and loved it. Just watched it on Netflix again the other day, personally find the film underrated and it’s up there being one of my favorite sci-fi films.

I cut off a part of the synopsis you get through google because you honestly get a part of the movie spoiled for you. Sam Rockwells performance in this is rock solid.

Astronaut Sam Bell's (Sam Rockwell) three-year shift at a lunar mine is finally coming to an end, and he's looking forward to his reunion with his wife (Dominique McElligott) and young daughter. Suddenly, Sam's health takes a drastic turn for the worse. He suffers painful headaches and hallucinations, and almost has a fatal accident.
