Looks like Liza is coming to a town near me in a few weeks. I'm trying to put together a gaggle of the gays to go. Anybody see her show recently? I've always wanted to see her and The Devine Miss M.

I can't wait!!(!)

I saw Liza with a Z when she came to Sydney a couple of years ago. She was actually amazing live. I had expected her to be a bit "meh" after all her health troubles, but she put on a great show. She's the first to admit the dance routines aren't as energetic as they used to be but that being said she still danced around the stage like a lunatic. I wondered at the time where she got the energy from.

Definitely go and see her, it was well worth it.

It's Friday night at 8PM. I hope she sings Mein Herr and Ring those bells...i'm so excited I could just poop......

Don't get your hopes up too much, she is not as reliable as she once was. I had tickets to see Liza on New Years Eve a few years ago, it was a small venue, very intimate, up close and personal, if I remember correctly, the tickets with dinner were around $2500 each. Anyway she arrived into Miami fine but the night before or that morning I don't remember which, she fell out of bed, hurt herself and could not perform. Had to scramble that New Years to find something to do.

I did see her in concert once a year or so later, it was good!

Well, I hope she doesn't fall out of bed today. We have dinner reservations at 6, show at 8, I should be home and in bed by 10, not a bad Friday night for an old gay. I have to start doing my hair soon.......(!)

Te..te..ten?

Have you decided what to wear? I'm thinking a black pantsuit in spandex with lots of sequins...and a walking cane to accessorize. :D Perhaps, a top hat as well or do you think that would be too much? :p

top hats are old school, I don't want to be lookin like mr. peanut. I'll sport tasteful balck slacks (always safe) and a warm red colored number with little blue and yellow lines in it. Black loafers will be safe in case she invites me up to dance on stage.....

So the show was great. I had a wonderful time. They started a tad late as I guess there was some sort of meet and greet with Liza and her group. People were standing around chatting and yucking it up when the band started milling around the stage, they started to play some music and everyone finally sat down. No intro, no nothin, Liza just walked out made a face like she was surprised to see everyone there and she started singing. She talked and sang and danced (as best she could) for about two hours. She sang one song from her new album that was great, and a bunch of the old standards. I loved every minute of it. A few times it seemed she was out of breath or having a hard time breathing, but the band covered her and she did really well. She sang New York New York like she was a teenager. The crowd loved her.
She commented on how beautiful the renovated theatre was, she asked when was it built, someone yelled out 1927, the she asked if she was the opening act there. She was great.

It's my favorite thing ever when artists do that at a concert. I always crack up! Do they really think that WE think they're surprised? :-P

Glad you had a good time FPNY. I saw her back in the mid-70's perform on Miami Beach: knock your socks off. Amazing how she spans time isn't it.
