....and you don't have a laptop or any other tech gadget with you.

In other words, the best or most secure public place to look at a gay porn site. ;)

Library?
Airport?
Hotel/B&B?
Cafe?
[STRIKE]Public Chatroom[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Tech Store[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Internet Access Shop[/STRIKE]
Place on the high street with computers where you pay money to go online for 30 minutes?

Do any of these places consciously monitor what you're looking at, or keep a permanent record or something?

I mean, surely they must do, because say I was a Chinese agent or an Islamic terrorist or something?

As you can see, I'm in need of advice.

:help:

Friend's Computer.

I've tried public ones in the past and it hasn't been very successful. JUB is a porn site, after all, and it is usually filtered out on public places (including pay as you go public computers).

I discovered last year that is it also filtered out in many free wi-fi places, most notably Denver International Airport. :(

I know for a fact you won't be able to access it much if you're in China.

And I mean, if you're at a public place and you don't have your own laptop, why would it even matter, it's not like they can track you down unless you do other personal stuff concurrently... :)

I don't look at JUB or porn on any other computer but mine.

This. Walls also have eyes, not only ears.

Well, apparently, this is not the case in some places in Singapore. For wi-fi, my campus's system had a flaw, permitting me to access JUB's Hot Topics and other non-porn threads. Even my friend was appalled to find that out. tee-hee

I don't use it anywhere but home. If I am not at home I don't really use the internet much apart from important stuff (so no JUB or porn).

I've been out of the country for two weeks and I didn't use JUB at all.

I always travel with my computer.

I agree with Reone, and Ozguy.

In certain places, I remember going into an internet cafe and was asked for a copy of my passport before they would assign me a computer. A lot of places are very VERY strict about no porn on their computers.

Invest in a laptop, they're all very reasonably priced nowadays if all you're looking for something to surf the net, or some of the mobile items like an iPad or similar.

I have jub set on the forum page. So I never see the porn when I open it up.
But I really dont worry much if people see what site I'm on in public.

I frequently log in at work. If there are other people in the office, I turn off the images, it's easy to do. But then, my work doesn't monitor web usage, they haven't got the resources; I got in trouble once of logging in here at another job, they just saw "PORN!" and didn't care that I don't come here for the porn, I come for the talk.

And I always travel with a laptop. But recently I was in a hotel and used their computer to log into JUB when I was on vacation with my family and discovered that I'd packed the wrong wi-fi receiver (this was my old laptop).

Again, I turned off images, since I didn't want to frighten any passersby with a lewd avatar (though, honestly, if they can see the details of a 150-pixel image on my screen, they're either standing WAY too close or they have Superman vision).

My thing is: I don't care who knows I come here. Unless they have the power to alter my employment status, I don't give a stinking rat's ass what anybody thinks of my taste in websites.

OK, let me clarify my question....

The two countries that are relevant are the United Kingdom and United States.

And I wouldn't be looking for porn, I would just go directly to the JUB forum.

Would I find the site blocked? Would I be able to log on here at all?

It would be a shame if I was prevented from accessing this site in public, even in the U.K. and U.S. :(

Will I be unable to post on JUB, or even look at JUB, for three weeks?

Using a proxy might help you bypass filters. If they haven't blocked those too.

A quick Google search for "proxy surf" came up with several free ones.

No download needed, it's just a website where you put in the URL of the blocked site and they retrieve it for you.

Missing us arent you?
Well just make certain you dont do so at any statutory risk to yourself.
Publicly accessing a gay site even if its only for the forums - can lead to highly embarrasing situations. Hotel rooms or other enclosed spaces AND IN YOUR OWN MACHINE are fine.
Its just the nature of the ...thing.
