I am at my wits end trying to look for a solution.

I dont know what version it is, its just a Logitech Quickcam. I'm running WinXP all updated, both windows and the camera software.

Basically when I record a video using the QuickCam capture software the sound doesn't record along with the video.

Yet I've used my cam in windows messenger and the sound is fine, and I can record my voice in windows voice recorder just fine.

The QuickCam recognises that there is sound as when I go to the audio settings and I talk the adjustment bar moves.

I've even tried recording a video in youtube and it still doesn't record my voice.

Its almost like it wont record my voice along with my video?

Anyone have any advice?

Its not life or death it just sucks to have something and not use it to its full potential!

Thanks for any help you can give!

Is the mic integrated in the cam, or standalone?

OK .. then I have no idea, unless there is a "press to talk" button set up somewhere in that software, or it uses it's own recording mixer which is set to very low (tried screaming into the mic yet ;) ? ).

LOL yes I have. But I cant understand why it allows me to use both functions over the Internet, yet not record both functions. Strange.

But I've plugged it into my lap top which has a built in mike and using that mike it works. Just a pain in the arse but I can record myself now... dunno what to record but I can if I want!

m1thousand thanks, but I've tried, honestly I have tried, all the links there I've been on before, even if I shuffle the words around. Trust me this is my last resort!

When I cam with someone yes it used the built in mic, my desktop doesn't have another mic so it has to be the built in one. Could it be my sound card?

But that microphone is set as the recording device in the windows mixer, right?

Yeah the built in one, my computer doesn't have another Microphone so when i used the sound recorder it was the quick cam built in mic.

it hast to look like that

just with the mic ticked. and be sure to look at the RECORDING control

Yep it does, it just seems to be the logitech software, but its all updated, maybe there are other programs I could use to record a video?
