London meetups

I'd go to London. Not sure about anywhere else. Is anyone organising this?

I'd be happy to go to London. Well, it depends where, I suppose. But, generally, I'd be happy enough with London, so long as it's a Friday night so I can crash at home before heading back up here.

Speaking for myself only:

if I want to go anywhere in the UK (air travel excluded), I need to go through London, so it's the most convenient for me by far. Okay, there's Canterbury (bus stop before London), but I doubt people want to go there. :)

Oh i don't know - I think that a good gay invasion would do Canterbury some good :)

If you want more central, I'd recommend Oxford - doesn't seem to be too expensive for the night, great pubs, within two hours of manchester (i think), and there's a good gay populace there already - feel free to disagree, but that's my recommendation

Birmingham is more central geographically, but as more people live down south, London's probably more convenient. Then, the rest of us more up north can easily get there by train via Brum or directly to London...

I'm not going to argue. There's just most of the country's transport lines converging there, and the area is called Central England - and the two counties (West and East) Midlands...

You're absolutely right. If we wanted a JUB meet purely for English and Welsh members, Birmingham would be a central venue. If the Scots were invited though, it would be fairer to move it north to Manchester. I think Manchester has the better gay scene too, which is hard for me to say as a Yorkshireman.

Btw, there is no such county as East Midlands.

No, just realized I put that - it's Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, and Lincolnshire (I think - never really cared enough to find out! LOL!)

Now, I think we've come full-circle, so let's leave it there (before start arguing that we should meet in a peat bog in Derbyshire!)... ](*,)

....I lost track of this thread....

....in case anyone wanted my two cents on the matter... I LOVE LONDON!!

:D
