My thrift store find. An antique wood drop leaf table, extendable with an extra leaf. It has metal claw feet and a 6 inch diameter turned base. I paid a whopping $16.16 for it!
It has one chip and a few scratches but nothing that can't be easily repaired. It doesn't even have any water rings on it. I have a small walk thru kitchen, no dining room. The only place for a table is against the wall, so this table is just perfect for me!

I would have bought an old 4 poster bed they had but I didn't have any way of getting it home.

I find great things at Volunteers of America all the time.

Have you guys found any great deals?

I always buy patent leather shoes from the charity shops, i couldn't get anything like a table/bookcase home with me.

Great find.

Great find, nothing like a bargain.

Very nice :) Old English dark scratch cover with make it look even better.

Found a very old solid oak file cabinet (Library Bureau Sole Makers)that had at least 6 layers of very dark green paint on it.I worked for many days with a citrus based paint remover,a few old toothbrushes and lots of steel wool.Sanded and clear coated it with polyurethane. It looks like this now.Our bedroom TV sits on it nice and high for watching TV in bed.

Remember when you used to do more than watch tv in bed? Sad.

Alistair, not only is the finish in really good condition, the table appears to be very solid. Any idea hold old it is?

Eh, we found some nice glass bottles that seal themselves. A fireplace poker set with stand, cast iron, b'lieve I mentioned that in a previous thrift store post. I found a very expensive clown snowglobe but the fucker broke on the greyhound ride home, was a pisser. It was a beautifully unique globe. We stay away from any furniture we can't fit in the deep freeze since philly has a bedbug problem and I'm a suspicious bastard.

I buy a lot of clothing, mostly knock- around t- shirts.
That is a nice table. ..|

Pants for looking good when going out; glass salad plates; napkin rings. Love going into thrift stores to see if I find anything there that I had as a kid growing up.

Thanks to my adjustable bed I found at the thrift store,I can still have sex

Damn, you found one at a thrift store? I had to go to hospital supply on amazon, lucky bugger. I wish it was an older model with a crank though, adjusting it the 'new' way is a pain in the ass.

I buy my Stuff at Room and Board. Its a very Nice place. Made in USA

Bought many, many books at charity shops. Also been lucky enough to pick up a couple of vintage Fred Perry's.

Good find! Especially for $16.

Much of my place is furnished with 2nd hand, auction, and thrift store finds. I like the character and quality of older things, the minor blemishes don't bother me, and I enjoy restoring and refinishing things too.

That is awesome. It looks great and would be nice for storing tshirts, socks and undies.
Looks like 1940s Duncan Phyfe Style Mahogany Drop Leaf Table with pedestal base.

Thank you! I was going to guess late 40s early 50s because of the metal claw foot.
Great finds. Sometimes old is better than new. The price is often better too.

I found a 3 drawer dresser from the 1920s made out of oak. I paid $60 for it. New dressers of the same size were running over $100 for pressed wood.

The 2 mint chairs in the picture are from the 40's. I've got 4 of them, for free from my dad's work. I had made a small table from a piece of wood i painted green to match, and a metal base I picked up along the roadside. The base wasn't big enough and would tip if you leaned on it the wrong way.
