My normal weight has always been around 175-180 lbs at 5'8. On the muscular side. I work out often at the gym. I haven't changed my normal diet or routine. I don't just eat until I'm full. I eat until it hurts. I swear I haven't changed anything. I am right now at exactly 160. Weighed myself just now at 160.2.

I thought may be I lost some muscle mass. So the other day I checked out my maxes at the gym and nothing has changed.

I turned 40 not too long ago. Is there something going on with aging that I am not aware of? I don't feel sick. I feel normal. I lift weight normal. I run normal. I sleep normal. I don't feel lethargic at all.

Should I be concerned?

You can't lose 15 lbs without losing muscle mass.

If you plateau, it is likely your metabolism changing. Eating until it hurts is not a good diet, but you know that.

If you lose another 5 lbs over the next month, then book in with a Doc.

When did you last weigh in at 175? Timeframe. Why has there been this gap?

Why haven't you noticed the change in the way your clothes fit? For someone your size, 15 - 20 pounds is a lot. Your regular clothes should look like pillowcases on you.

What you describe doesn't sound particularly concerning. Have you been suffering from stress? Are your bowels normal? I don't think 160 pounds is unhealthy for your height and age, but, as rareboy says, if you continue losing weight, it would be sensible to submit to a once over with the quack.

The weight loss was over the last 2 months. Yes I have been noticing my clothes being pretty loose. My size 32-33 pants had always fit fine. Now if I don't wear a belt I have to hold them up or they slide down like I'm one of those baggy pants from prison dudes.

And yes I have been noticing it. I just didn't pay attention to it until now. My BF and I weighed ourselves naked and I actually weigh less than him now.

Unexplained weight loss can imply something serious. Worth getting checked by a doctor

Haha yes I am aware eating until it hurts is not healthy. I have always love food. And I normally have a big appetite. If you put 10 grown men in a room with me and lots of food, I promise you I will eat more than any of them. Or even several of them together. My friends have always commented on this in the past. They know how much I eat.

It is actually somewhat of a minor miracle that I am not fat.

After I made the OP, I went ahead and scheduled for a checkup for this incoming friday.
I sincerely hope all is well. Under 50, lots of exercise and I had bowel cancer (albeit no weight loss). Had I ignored the symptoms, it would have been fatal.

Scheduled a visit this Friday. I swear to God, if this turns into something fatal, I will come back and haunt this forum for the rest of time.
That's Andreus' job. If you come back, you'll have to entertain us.

In seriousness, I pray you have nothing serious, but if you do, I pray it will be healed quickly.

Had my checkup. Currently waiting for blood drawn. And I gotta set up for a colonoscopy. Not looking forward to that.

Do you think you have leveled off, or are you still dropping?

You didn’t happen to run over an old Gypsy woman with your truck, did you?

I had a colonoscopy a few weeks ago. The prep work was a little brutal. I am still recovering. Saw the GI doctor yesterday because I have been having a lot of abdominal pain. She pointed out that it is possibly due to the loss of all the intestinal bacteria, the good and the bad. She prescribed antibiotics, good live culture yogurt and a probiotic supplement. I hope it all goes well for you, keep us posted.
