MeTV is showing Lost in Space, with a very young Curt Russell, excellent acting and great story line....

I remember that episode. It's kind of scary knowing that I saw it the first time around.

How glam is my life?

Kurt Russell, not Curt.

I used to watch "Lost in Space" in its original run...

Dick Tufeld, the voice of the Robot in the 1960s science-fiction TV series…
January 25, 2012|By Claire Noland, Los Angeles Times

Dick Tufeld, a longtime radio and TV announcer who intoned "Danger, Will Robinson!" as the voice of the Robot in the 1960s science-fiction TV series "Lost in Space," has died. He was 85.

Tufeld died Sunday at his home in Studio City while watching the NFL playoffs, his family said. He had heart disease and had been in declining health since sustaining a fall last year.

In "Lost in Space," producer Irwin Allen's futuristic retelling of the "Swiss Family Robinson" story that aired on CBS from 1965 to 1968, actor Bob May wore the Robot costume and Tufeld provided the voice.

I just checked what I recorded. And my local ME TV affiliate ran women's regional basketball playoffs instead. Guess that means I'll miss Lost in Space for most of March.

The epsiode continues next week (same robot time, same robot channel)

I thought the clothing was tight

Were there two robots on the show?
I thought I might have seen the robots battle each other but I might be wrong
Im only familar with the robot on the left (prior to watching the show recently)

They just ran this episode a few weeks ago. They found the second robot on the planet where they've crash landed. He's more advanced than their robot, but that leads to problems. Everything they discover leads to problems or Dr Smith does something stupid or underhanded and it leads to problems.

I saw an interview with Jonathan Harris (Dr. Smith) a few years ago. He was talking about the pilot episode where he was a hardened military officer and deadly serious. He sabotaged the flight but was trapped aboard the Jupiter 2 and ended up going along for the ride.

Harris realised very quickly, though, that the fans of the show would cheer if he were to be bumped off, and he had no desire to leave the show. To save his career, he began camping up his character and it caught on with both the fans and the creators of the show. The campiness really came in when Smith was turned into a celery stalk. (What were they thinking?)
