Lost: The Final Season!!!!!! Feb. 2, 2010!!

I guess that's why they called it "Lost"?
Actually that's exactly why the show is called Lost. Some fans just have forgot over the years what this show is all about. In six years of questions going unanswered before moving on to more questions, why did some fans expect this formula to suddenly change in the final episode? They have only themselves to blame if they were disappointed.

I loved the series too, despite a few questionable bumps along the way. As far as quality programming goes, this show was unprecedented in sustaining the high quality for six years. Although I would not want it to continue in any way; that would only negate the closure I felt with the characters in the finale. But I truly will miss not having a new episode to look forward to each week.

When they started doing the show in HD it was visually stunning. The ocean, the beach, the forest, the characters, the water - everything was so beautifully enhanced. In Richard's story I was fully captivated by the ocean, the ship, the darkness and the light - but what incredible imagery.

How can you not miss a show that had 6 years of quality writing, performances and scenery?

I don't know if that was directed at me, but for the record I said I would miss it, in case you misread my last post.

I wasn't directing any negativity at you at all, and I am sorry if I implied that because I love your posts. I was simply saying it is hard not to miss this show. I know you said you will miss it and again, if I seemed to be implying otherwise, it is not meant that way.

Thank you, also, for your many posts about the show and it's ending and it's 6 year run. I, myself, would have written more posts over the years but I always dvred the show and watched it after everyone had discussed it. In other words, I would have been out of the loop.

Scene::::HUGO, walking thru the forest, following a faint, barely seen path. He comes to a clearing, where we see ROSE and BERNARD cooking over a steaming kettle......

Rose looks up and sees Hugo, and freezes....

Rose: "Oh, shit. What now?"

Hugo: "Um,....hi guys. I just came to tell you that it's safe now. Smokies dead, he was killed a few days ago."

Rose: "Smokie......?......"

Hugo: "The smoke monster, Locke, he's dead."

Roses eyes get big, slightly frightened...

Rose: "That smoke creature?! John Locke?! This whole time????!"

Hugo: "No! No. Just ever....since....he...died..." Hugo, realizing how this sounds looks around, slightly embarrassed. "The smoke monster took over John's shape in order to try to trick us, and kill us. But, anyway, I just came to tell you, that it's safe now, you don't have to hide anymore if you don't want."

Rose, who now has Bernard's arm around her as he's listening in, smiles slightly, but warily.....

Rose: "No, Hugo, we're fine. Just where we are." "But thanks for letting us know."

Hugo Nod's his head slightly, and starts to turn around, but turns back quickly...."Oh, and I'm the new Jacob."

Rose (slightly annoyed now...) "Who the hell is Jacob?"

Hugo: He was the Islands protector. Now I'm it."

Rose: "Protecting it from what?"

Hugo: "Protecting it's....light....source...(looking around, embarrassed, knowing how this sounds).....thing..... With Ben's help."

Rose and Bernard together: "BEN??!!"

Hugo "Oh! It's o.k.! He's cool now, dudes." "Well, I did not mean to disturb you. Just wanted to let you know, that everything's o.k. now. Yeah,...well...take care guys." Hugo turns, and starts walking away.

Bernard: "Hugo...."

Hugo: "um,...yeah?....."

Bernard: (Encouraging smile on his face, talking almost like he's talking to a kid) "I'm sure you are going to be a great protector, Hugo."

Hugo (Stands up a little straighter and smiles) "Thanks dude." (pauses for a second. before turning back, into the jungle the way he came.)

Rose and Bernard, look at eachother, shake their heads in disbelief over what has been going on, chuckle slightly, and get back to work......

Now THAT is a scene I would have liked to seen.......

Almost. When Jack closed his eyes (died) he flashed over to this season's first scene on Oceanic 815, where Rose told him he could let go (clever, eh?). But the plane that flew over before he died, that was simply Ajira 316.

I guess it's how you interpret it, Jack could have died right then and there, we (the audience saw the plane, Oceanic 815) and then Jack closed his eyes. Just because he closed he eye doesn't mean he died at that exact second, he could have died a few seconds before. I guess we'll never know, hopefully they will have full commentary on this episode when the DVD set comes out in August.

After expressed disappointment from many Lost fans that the finale was anticlimactic, I hear that George Lucas was consulted to digitally edit Jack's and Flocke's final showdown for the DVD release. Here is some footage that somebody has found.

No word yet about what other things Lucas as digitally altered in the Lost finale for the DVD.

My Tuesday nites are going to be so empty now........:(

But, I did hear that they filmed a "after Hugo becomes protector" scene, almost 20 minutes long (!) just for the DVD of the season/series. Sweet!
