Love and Lust

I think we USAers are rather imprecise when we speak. I do not know if it is due to a lack of emphasis in literature in our schools or a general laziness that propels us to use whatever works, rather than what would work best.

So many people here use the word love when they mean lust. These people do not love a person, they lust after that person. They really want to get physical with that person, not get to know them, encourage and support them, take pride in them. They rather just want to get naked and have fun.

And there is nothing wrong with getting physical and getting naked and having fun - wish I did it more often. A successful relationship requires a mixture of lust and love. But love is the sustaining quality and should be the primary quantity. Lust is brief and fleeting.

Any couple who truly love each other, need to lust after each other every once in a while. It is good to lust after your partner and know that they still lust after you. But lust is the lighter fluid, if it is all that is creating the fire, it will not last and the food will acquire a bad taste. Hopefully there is real fuel to be burned that is long lasting and produces warmth and heat and not just a flame.

I wondered where my blog entries went

and, do you really love a certain item of food, or a specific TV show or movie or even song. I suppose one can be obsessed or enjoy or have a wave of euphoria when an item is encountered, heard, tasted, seen; but is that love, perhaps that is all, a chemical reaction within the brain that influences us to extremes.
