I work out in the gym, swim & use weights at home, everything is fine except one thing! I never seem to get rid of my love handles (obliques) searched the net for excersizes that isolate them , but have found none!
Does anyone have any suggestions about what excersizes to do to tone them?

Unfortunately, you can't just spot train your love handle region. It's good to build muscle, as that will eventually burn more fat while doing everyday things, but to make it happen faster, you need to do some cardio regularly as well.

thanx dude, i do dance as well, but the problem is i can get my upper, lower and mid abs to show but nothing seems to shift them, but i will take ur advice :)

I know the feeling. I've been in the process of losing weight over the past year (so far 40 lbs.). With all the weight I have lost, I still have love handles. It's my problem area and the first area fat collects on my body and the last it burns from. This might be the same for you (I'm guessing). Fortunately, now that the majority of the fat from the rest of my body has disappeared, my love handles are starting to slim down.

The problem with love handles is they aren't actually muscles, but fat deposits. So no amount of toning will make them go away alone, although the muscles under them will tighter. The best way to get rid of them is a lot of cardio (I do 45 minutes of moderate to high intensity four times a week) and to watch your calorie intake. Hope that helps.

dude, i'm a personal trainer...personally though, i do cardio-precor machines, hiking, kickboxing, etc, anything that keeps your heart racing-for at least 30 minutes, almost everyday. because of it, i do not have love handles. we are all different. what works for me may not work for others. but it couldn't hurt for you to try what i know works for me. pls get in touch if and when you have got any questions. peace out, John.

H.I.I.T (high intensity interval training). You can apply it to practically any cardio exercises. The principle is this: go all out for 30 seconds and take it easy for about 2 minutes to recover. For example, you could sprint as fast as you can for 30 seconds and walk it off for 2minutes and do the cycle 6 times. It makes your body hard to adjust to the level of stress your putting it through=meaning you'll spike your metabolism to burn fat during and AFTER the workout.

It definitely works on shedding the fat without losing muscle. I saw my results in about 2 weeks of doing it 3 times a week. My abs were more defined. But I'm not saying that you'll have the same results as me. Do this and forget about running at a constant speed, which only works in the beginning.

Best of luck!

Key is cardio-vascular for at least 30 minutes three days a week, or up to an hour. I recommend the tread mill, or running outdoors. If knees bother you then try an eliptical cross trainer.
A year in and I guarantee you will look much better. It is neither an easy or quick fix.
