I live in Thailand and I just watch the best gay movie here. Well, It's not quite a full blown gay movie but a coming-of-age romantic / family drama with two main gay characters. This movie is "LOVE OF SIAM"



Part of the story involves a difficult love angle between two young men who were boyhood friends. The story begins when old friends Tong and Mew meet by chance at Siam, a well-known place that teenagers in Bangkok hanging out. Tong is a popular and handsome boy who is bored with his pretty girlfriend like Donut. Tong just discovers that pretty girlfriend is not the answer for something in his life. While Mew is a quiet guy who is obsessed by music, and secretly loved by Ying, a girl next door. Mew is facing hard time trying to compose love songs after his grandmom died.

OMG! They are so cute. I can't wait to have the movie in my hands!
 
I just finished this movie along with "Bangkok Love Story." Being khmer myself, I hope more movies like these gets made. Loved them both very much.
 
Confusing at times and pretty long but overall a good film. It seems like the best gay films (and there aren't many) focus less on the 'gay' aspect and more on the overall film.

On a side note, I searched for 4 hours straight for subtitles to this film once I got a copy only to find a copy the next day that was better quality and included subtitles.
 
Does it have English Subtitles? I only know a little Thai, mostly just numbers. Don't think that will help me much.
 
Well I found one with subtitles, as I can't understand thai aside for some words that are similar to the cambodian language. But from what I've read there seems not to be any subtitles included in the many dvd versions out there.
 
Now if only the rest of those actors from those thai tv dramas were willing to do these kinds of roles...
