So, I checked out different kinds of lube. And I requested free samples from all of the places that give them. But they won't get here until 4 to 6 weeks from now! So, I'm back looking for some advice.
It looks like Wet brand lube is rather popular. Do any of you have experience with this kind? Do you love it, hate it, what?
Also, Swiss Navy lube looks like it's nice. Well, I like the packaging :P Haha. Do any of you have experience with that stuff?
Also, what kind should I get? Obviously oil based won't work because it is not safe with condoms. But what about water based vs. silicon based? What are the differences? What is better?
Also, if you have a suggestion other than one that I mention here, feel free to say it. I really have no idea what I'm doing, so any input would be great.

If it's for anal, basically water-based is easier cleanup but you may have to apply it more, and the sillcone/thicker-based ones take less to use but also take more to get rid of, if you catch my drift.

Is it hard to get off? Like, do you have to like scrub off silicon lube? Or is it just a little more intensive wiping with a towel? lol
So which one do you recommend?
 
Use KY or Astroglide. You can get them at almost any drug store or WalMart. Water based and easy cleanup.
 
gun oil is the best. i avoid all tubs of stuff because if you have to reapply then you germ up the whole tub of lube. a pump bottle can be shared among partners without worrying about germs infesting
 
I have "Eros" which I use for *ahem* special occasions.

For myself I use some generic stuff.

Generally the only way to get silicon based lubes off quickly is with soap and a bit of scrubbing. Silicone based lubes can be used in the shower, and so of course don't come off with just water easily.

Personally I use ID sensation. I've used ID millennium which is silicon based, but I dunno, I didn't really care for it and the cleanup was a bit of a pain.
 
Okay, so I know for sure that I don't want silicon based lube then. Because it seems like too much work, lol. And, I like what was said about lube from a tub. It is not as clean, and that is important to me. So, I'm thinking a water based lube from a bottle will be the best. And a few different kinds have been mentioned by you guys. So I'll have to go check them out.

Anal sex is my primary concern. With a condom, of course.
But, something that could be used for jacking off also could be good?
The most important thing is characteristic is that it would be good for anal sex.
 
OK.. don't use water-based lube for anal sex. Your ass, unlike a vagina, isn't self-lubricating and it dries up fast creating an almost gluey viscosity. Silicone lube is a bit harder to clean up but it will stay lubed for the whole fucking session and it will make fucking easier.. trust me.

Oh... for jacking off, I personally recommend ID Cream which is petroleum-based. don't use it for fucking, it will destroy condoms and tear up in inside of the bottom's ass.
 
Definitely use silicon for the anal, I agree with Soilwork. I use Eros for lube whenever I have sex with my b/f. I usually don't use lube to jerk off on my own. Water-based definitely dries up much faster. Silicon clean-up is a little bit messier, but it's not like you have to scrub much to clean it off. It comes off with a normal shower with soap and spray down. Whichever you choose, if you lube your ass or your partners, you or your partner are going to feel a lot more comfortable if you're able to spray it out after. Just a suggestion!

And I'm glad you're using protection.
 
Oh.. water-based lube will also be more likely to give you zits in your ass crack.

ID Millennium is my favorite silicone lube under $50 per bottle. Of course... ID Lube sponsors Fratpad so I get it for free.

But the reason we chose them was that it was my favorite lube...
 
I've used a few types. I personally like ID. Wet is pretty good too, but I just don't buy it. It's true that for anal you have to keep lubing up with water based ones, but if the top doesn't have a problem with it, it's a lot easier to clean up and then you can go to sleep without taking a shower, unless this is for random sex partners after which you probably don't actually sleep with them. Anyway, just don't use anything like baby oil or petroleum jelly for anal. I used to use baby oil for jacking off though when I was younger and it worked well and kept my bits all nice a soft like a baby's bottom, but I had to basically just let it dry/absorb in.

So there really is a downfall to being gay. Sex becomes really complicated. :(

No.. Silicone based.. and cleanup isn't THAT bad.. if you just leave it there and go to sleep, a good silicane lube will be just absorbed by your skin. But careful to not get it on the floor.. it's going to be slippery.. and if it stains the sheets, you need to use Cascade Dishwasher detergent to clean it.

DO NOT USE OIL BASED FOR ANYTHING BUT JACKING OFF.

So there really is a downfall to being gay. Sex becomes really complicated. :(
