I have yet to have anal sex and I want to be prepared. I know that regardless I need lubication, but which is better lubricated or non lubricated condoms?

Non lubricated condoms + lube.
In my experience the lubricated condoms are not really good for anal sex. The lubrication is by far not enough.

Yep, lubricated condoms are for vaginas. For anal, you need the plain ol' vanilla condoms.

Condomania has a lube advisor that will help you pick out the right lube.

Good for you for planning ahead!

I agree with all the prior posts...non lubricated are better for anal. You put the right amount of lube on for you, not the other way around! You also get to use your brand of lube, versus something that may be on the condom and could possibly cause a reaction or irritation!

^Corny's right, on top of that, every lubricated condom I've ever seen uses oil-based lube which is a no-no.

Use non-lub. condoms with water-based lube.
No, they don't use oil based lube. There's nothing wrong with lubricated condoms per say, they're just not the best choice for anal.

You can use lubricated condoms for anal sex, only don't count on the lube being sufficient.

I'd recommend taking it real slow your first time. Have a patient top, preferably a boyfriend, and do lots of fingering with well-lubed fingers beforehand. A 'toy' somewhere between the girth of his finger and his cock might be advisable.

I wish I had done it that way. For my first time I basically just spread my legs. He just put it in and it hurt like hell. Fortunately he jizzed just as soon as he got it in (we were 16), but took me a long time before I did it again.

The first time's probably gonna hurt regardless, but keep at it: it gets better ;)

silicone-based lubes, while pricey, are better: you don't need as much so the container usually lasts longer.

Yeah that's what I am hearing that it may hurt the first time. I am willing to try. Thanks everyone for your input.

It may hurt, but if your top is patient and knows what he's doing, he may be able to do it with no pain and only some minor awkwardness as you get used to it...then pleasure pleasure pleasure.

The key is understanding between the two of you, communication, and patience on his end.
