Mac or a PC ?

Sorry, but they don't come with problems at all. You're not going to start up a pc and it's going to freeze right up. That doesn't happen.

Except it does.

Every PC that we get for the Fratpad has to brought in t take off all those silly add-on apps which slow the thing down. We have to remove all those annoying auto-update things that constantly run in the background and We have to change the way in connects to the internet becuase the regular wireless connection isn't stable enough to run a cam site.

Often when we turn them on for the first time, we have to wait for about 8 minutes while they go through their processes of starting everything.. and if you try to start a new program while it's doing it.. it will hang up, sputter, freeze and otherwise make me want to throw it out the window.

All of the Fratmen at the pad bought macs for themselves and keep coming to my office telling me how amazing they are and how much they hate having to use PCs for the Fratpad.

Anyway.. you like your PC and have never had a problem with it. Good for you. I prefer my Apple stuff. Good for me.

How do you know? You don't own one. You're only going by what other people are saying.

Then I'll tell you.. Macs start up and just.. go.

There's no plethora of add-ons and apps that you need to disable and uninstall and exit when you start up.

Software is all updated in one program and you run when you want to run it.. not while you're in the middle of encoding a movie causing the encoding program to crash.
There aren't a bunch of processes in the background hogging up memory or disc space.

And yeah.. programs like Limewire and Kazaa for PC are evil and will fill your computer with viruses, spy ware, ad ware and all sorts of othe junk. That just doesn't happen on a mac.

people still use Limewire and KaZaA? If they do, then their computer should get filled with viruses, spyware, adware, and all that other junk.

my god, you're a mac nut and you haven't even converted yet

and interestingly enough, Apple doesn't even have a gaming console :p!!!

and interestingly enough, Apple doesn't even have a gaming console :p!!!

My point was more "There's plenty of other options open to Mac-fans who want to play games"

Not forgetting the fact that, as OSX is effectively Unix under the hood, it's possible to install WINE on it and run a lot of windows games natively if that's your thing.

(I'm a unix-nut. I know these things :D)

I think the important thing for anyone to know is that its all about preference in this debate. Both have their goods, and both have their bads, albeit one has more bads than the other. Whichever one you can stand, use it.

:)

I'm gonna laugh if you order a Mac and it arrives broken or messed up.

No, but let me recap.

You made a thread asking which one you should buy.

Then you complain about all the bad luck you have with PCs and swear by Macs, even, though you don't have one.

Think about it.

I never said you didn't know how to use one.

The kid became a MAC convert in record time

Order a mac? lol... I'll just go to the Mac store lol ...

You don't know how to order?

You know, not everyone has an Apple store in their town, so yeah, order is the first thing that came to my mind.

If you don't know how to order, then yes, you should get a Mac.

Unless you're an avid PC gamer or have specific software that you want to use that only runs on a PC, get a mac. I've used both for several years, and let me tell you, the mac is a much, much, much better general-purpose computer. (And no... I'm not an idiot... or a computer n00b)

I'm rather proud of this little gem...

Code:
perl -wle '(1 x $_) !~ /^(11+)\1+$/ && print while ++$_'

Can't do THAT under windows...

(well, unless you've got perl installed. But I can guarantee that 99% of the M$-users on this forum won't)

MACCCCCCC......its absolutely the best. Its SO much faster, nicer, mor fun, and u dont get any viruses!
