1) battery is not user replaceable.
2) It is a 1.8" hard drive like an iPod

You are missing the point. This doesnt replace any of the product line. It is a specialty product that may or may not be right for you. Personally no notebook works for me. They are all too slow. I'm guessing it will appeal more to women.

I'll stick to my 5 year old G4 dual processor tower. It helps keep my feet warm;)

Haha, a 1.6ghz c2d would still be faster than that system.
 
I think Apple's target market here are the executives / people on the go - who prefer using macs of course.

Hence being an ultraportable.

13 inches is perfect and resolution is nice. and I think that is a smart move from apple. Personally, I would NOT want to have a computer that has a screen smaller than 12". So they did a super think notebook that looks mighty killer.

I would never ever get this notebook because it doesn't suit my needs (graphic design etc.) I would go for a mbp as a portable. But If I was someone who needed to run around the city doing presentations and spreadsheets and shit like that, I'd definitely be buying MBair.

MacBook Air is intended to be very portable and light weight computer. It is wireless. Software can be loaded onto it from another MAC with ease. Apple has also created a wireless back up disk along with airport. The new item is Time Capsule. Time Capsule will wirelessly backup all computers on your network. My home is on a wireless network and has been for a few years. Mac Book Air would integrate nicely into the system.

I would recommend watching Steve Jobs keynote address where he explains all the new products being introduced.
 
The MacBook Air is hot and sexy - and I know several that plan to run right out and buy it.

I'd love to have one just for the fun factor - but for me personally my MacBook Pro is more practical.
 
PC all the way, never used a man and never will but i will admit its so sexy.

Everytime i see the envelope Ad on TV it hypnotizes me.

Slim is sexy although i mean seriously how can it not have a CD/DVD?


And i hope thats not how they are shipping the mac in that envelope.

$1700 for this potato chip?! Its thin and light but its slow(1.8GHz) and its parts suck. spend that money on a real laptop.

And it also sucks that the battery cant be replaced.

Im holding out for the macbook wallet. It fits in your pocket and when you turn it on the keyboard and screen is a hologram.
