Made a deal with a porn agency that I think is probably a scam?

Hi everyone. Decided to post this here because I had no idea where else to post it. I recently decided to get into porn and sent in an application to an "Adult Talent Management" company called "The Porn Agency." There website can be found here. [link removed]

After applying I was contacted a few hours later by one of the guys working for the company apparently. He said they wanted to hire/do a shoot with me and he then went and directed me towards a website called "All Model Agencies" [link removed] where it showed the Porn Agency as being listed as the number 1 adult modelling agency company. After speaking with him for a bit, he stated that he wanted to have me come down to San Diego (this weekend), book a hotel room for myself, and then do a shoot. He also wants me to go and get an HIV test to show that I am HIV negative.

I came to find an article though on Mike South.com which discussed the Porn Agency as being a scam. In the article, listed here (https://mikesouth.com/porn-idiocy/scam-alert-fake-talent-agency-thepornagency-fraud-66988) states that this modelling agency (the Porn Agency) is run by conmen, is not an agency, not a talent management company, and has no license. Now, I am 90% sure they are a scam, but I am really desperate for money and part of me wants to believe. Strangely, the Porn Agency does have a Youtube channel where they showcase porn models advertising for the company. Of course, this can be a trap to lure lame suckers like myself in.

What do you guys think? Should I say YOLO and go ahead and give it a try? Or should I stop being a complete freaking idiot and realize this is BS?

P.S. A lot of you probably think I was pretty stupid for this, and I was, but keep in mind I was also high on speed.

I agree, they have to be fake. The fact that they called me a couple hours after I applied is very suspicious in itself. I admit though I was somewhat fooled because they do have a Youtube channel showcasing various porn actors that are listed on their website.

I agree, the fact that they contacted me a few hours after applying is suspicious in itself. I will admit, they do seem somewhat real as they have a Youtube channel where they showcase amateur pornstars that are listed on their site. But yeah, I should just back out now.

They do have a Youtube channel and even showcase the models that are listed on their site. but yeah, I probably should pass.

There are different "tiers" to these companies. The reputable companies that you want to work for a) pay your travel and lodging and b) pay or reimburse you for your testing and will show you the test results of your scene partners. Some studios are part of Performer Availability Screening Services (PASS) which has a policy that performers should have tests within 14 days of the shoot.

You should be able to find information like this on the site of a reputable company.

From what you have described, the companies that you are in contact with are shady.

Regarding you PS... a) you might want to avoid making decisions when high for the obvious reasons and b) until you are in a better situation, you might consider doing solo shows on an amateur site before you make the decision to work for a studio where you won't have control over what happens with the product.

I mean...if there is an article listing out all of that shady stuff about them. So yeah, I think I have made up my mind, I won't go through with. Damn, I was somewhat excited I'll admit.

If you want to show off and make some money, you should consider the cam and "fans" sites. You'll make more money. Just be sure to plan ahead for income taxes. :)

"high on speed" explains alot. Many many years ago I used to be "high on speed" and my decisions often reflected this.

Pay attention to the conman warning

Who plans a shoot, without an "audition" process, to see if someone can perform the job?
Maybe it's just some dude who found this a good way for an easy lay or some other psychopathic stuff. :deadhorse:

Everyone here agrees that wouldn't be a good idea and I say no

My late bf had an agreement with Sean Cody when he was 18 and had a ticket waiting at the airport and I refused to drive him to it knowing those photos would be on the internet forever. He thanked me years later when he graduated college.

1 Don't go it is most likely a scam, you can find more reputable (or as reputable as a porn casting agent can be) porn agents out there.
2 Get yourself into a drug program, If you're making these decisions high on speed what other bad decisions have you made/ will you make pot and poppers are ok, getting into the harder stuff you got a problem buddy.
Be safe I hope you ditch the drugs and talk to someone.
