Madonna or Whitney Houston? Both singers were big in the 80's but,it seems like Madonna still going stong and Whitney is getting her act together. After divorcing her husband Bobby Brown. Hopefully Whitney will have a new cd out soon.

They are completely different artists.

And yes she is working on her album. I heard a song that R Kelly wrote for her and its absolutely beautiful. R Kelly was singing it while playing the piano but i could hear Whitney putting her diva touch on it.

One of you mentioned Mariah and Whitney, that reminds me, LOL, I remember having a discussion with some other people and the topic was just that: “Mariah vs. Whitney” and the discussion was a little bit intense and it started off with someone saying something like: “Allegedly, Whitney Houston has been dating Ray J who’s close to 20 years her junior…but then another person went something like this: “Well look at Mariah Carey, she had an affair with Tommy Mottola about a year or two after she graduated from high school and he was 20 years her senior and still married with children and the kids were close to the same age as Mariah by the way and in a recent Playboy magazine cover interview, Mariah said she didn’t know he was married then, but in a Rolling Stone magazine cover interview years back in 1998, that wasn’t mentioned at all…all she said in that Rolling Stone article was that she thought it was okay to be in a relationship with Tommy because he and his wife were already having problems in their marriage.” It was a little intense, I just stayed quiet, LOL.

Based on success worldwide, Madonna’s ahead of Whitney…and Mariah. I bet the anticipation of Whitney’s next album is getting Madonna nervous though because if that album becomes a major worldwide hit, then it would make Whitney more successful than her.

I remember LOVING both Madonna and Whitney Houston in the 1980's but always hating on Houston because she always won the awards that I felt Madonna should have gotten.

But looking back on that now, I see why NARAS gave the trophies to the incredibly talented Houston.

As it stands today, both are in my Top 5 Favorite Artists Of All-Time and I adore them both!!!

Both did make headlines in the 80's. Until now, people are still interested in Madonna's records. She still hits No.1 on Billboard (dance). Whitney - she's struggling.

I think Madonna's success easily impresses her fans, gay or not. Madonna should have the upper hand here.

Listen to Whitney's phrasing and diction, and her vibrato is at her best and healthy is so polished and controlled. That amazing tone and control and power she still has is amazing. If she still sounds like this, her comback will be huge.

R Kelly wrote a song for her comeback called, "I look to You" It sounded good when Kelly sang it so you can imagine how HUGE it will be when Whitney puts her diva touch on it.

I had the privilege of hearing Whitney's version and her voice is in top form. I do hope they have more stuff for her that's not so saccharine though. And I really hope they leave She-Yo's track off of it. Blech.
