Magical moment

Yesterday me and my friend, TheZob, went out to the woods at Chew Valley Lake to lay to rest the body of my pet mouse, Asta. Whilst we were there, a tiny little wild Wood Mouse hopped out of the undergrowth. I was quite surprised to see one of these out and about in broad daylight, but it seemed perfectly healthy and completely unafraid. It scampered right up to us, so we gave it a little piece of food, and it sat on its haunches, nibbled away for a while, and then scurried off back into woods.

I didn't have my camera with me, but here is a pic from Google of an adorable little Wood Mouse: :luv2:

It seemed like a very special, magical moment, and helped to release some of the sadness associated with the loss of Asta.

Anyone else, had a 'magical moment' recently?

i saw three crows eating a dead racoon in the street two days ago....

does that count?

there is somenoe who just has a magical moment through looking at your pic :)

Not exactly an answer to your question Hoody, but maybe it was a sign from Asta thanking you for all the love and good care you gave.

You are a special man, caring for the little creatures as you do.

That is a cute little mouse in that pic.

:-)

Very sweet! I remember crossing the borders into Vancouver BC from Seattle and stopped at the duty free store. While my friend went into the store, I stayed outside in the parking lot. I had the nicest fortune to see a brown bunny sniffing and nibbling through the grass and bushes... that went on for about 10 minutes and he slipped away just before my friend came out. It was a nice break from all the madness going on... it was a great serene moment.

That's a great story! Thanks for sharing it! We'll all take relief where we can find it when we're coping with the loss of a pet.

What a very nice send off for Asta! Thank you for sharing! It touched my heart!

Nothing quite as magical as that, Hoody. Those types of moments don't come along very often.

We have deer that come up and eat in the yard. I didn't take time to get my camera, but two of the yearlings were grooming each other - oh, probably twenty feet from me -- it was very sweet and peaceful.
