Major Grocer bans plastic bags in Portland!!!

What actually is gross about Safeway? We have them here and they're alright.

Um. and Rareboy, I don't know where you live but in this part of frozen Canuckistan, it's all the free plastic bags you can handle. I either use them for something else or just throw them out the window of the car when we go somewhere.

No just kidding, we just recycle them. Convenient and no big deal.

Damn communist nanny state. Fuck them. They can't keep their noses out of anything.

The stores here in WNY still ask if you want paper or plastic, however, in the last two years, they have begun to offer resuable handled bags at the reasonable price of $1. each. Wegmans, Tops, Big M, and even Aldi's have them.

my philosophy on this is if you want people to go green make recycling easy! Tons of stores in my area still use free plastic bags but they also have recycle bins too and its always full. Now stores around here are having electronics recycle. Recycle old cell phones and mp3 players etc. And once again the bins are full instead of banning stuff just make recycling easy
