Making video game videos?

Hey guys I notice how on youtube alot of people have ingame footage of gameplay or cinematics. I was curious how this is accomplished I had an idea for a project and I wanted to experiment with it

Hmm.. the only thing I can think of, is if you are playing a game yourself on a pc.. and use some kind of screen grabbing software which records video. Sorry I couldn't been much help other than that. This is how I achieved it when showing a friend a game I was playing.

Thanks for the info. I have FRAPS and never realized it has video capture.

Usually if people are wanting to record their 360 or PS3 they usually use some sort of HD recorder like Hauppauge to capture the video but it requires a really powerful PC to record high quality videos.

The Dazzle are just good if you don't care about quality if you want HD footage of video games you'll need to get real serious and buy a PVR. My friend has one and he records footage from his PS3 all the time but the videos are freaking huge I wish my computer could do that cause I would have a shit load of videos.

With my Dazzle which is probably a very older version this is the best quality I can get it, I think the updated models are a bit better.

Some can but what I found out, if you have a slow ass computer that is not capable of recording and playing games back at the same time you'll have a lot of lag. Though like emulators like MAME can do it, the finished product is smooth video but in real time the game play is just almost unplayable if running on a shitty computer.

Yes, just purchase an HD PVR.. cause not only can you use it to record games but you can record your tv shows in the highest quality possible for watching later.
