I come from a family of elected officials, both on a local and state level, and my family has received those types of calls.

They're not pretty, and they're certainly not fun to receive.

He looks like the type of fucker that I'd like to reach into his pick up truck, grab him by the larynx, rip it out then skull fuck him with it.

It's obvious from his mug shot that he no longer has any teethe so it's not like he'd choke right away.

Cain is not popular. He fell even with Romney a few days ago and now he has dropped within the GOP voters especially to bring his favorability rating down to 32 nationwide

That is only slightly better than the GOP in congress and is in the shitter compared to Obama's rising numbers these last few weeks.

Of course my experience is still limited. But I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that it is broader and deeper than most others who are simply declaring that I'm wrong because they feel personally offended or are feeling the patriotic stirrings in their breast.

As a student of history, I have a fairly good background in the social development of the Americas. There is no question that a nation built on slavery, which then, for a century following, permitted structural racial inequality cannot escape this heritage and consequences. And when blacks were no longer a 'legitimate' group to be exploited in the political arena, Muslims and Mexicans have been right there to take their place in a national garment rending discourse.

Even the fact that so much is made of a candidate's race and religion in the US must surely underscore for even the most blinkered, that there are serious underlying unresolved issues that a part of the contextual framework of American politics and society.

Even with this candidate, everyone, including Cain himself, is playing the race card. Why not? It is a perfectly good way to obscure the reality that this is a man of limited intellect and vision. He is a wholly owned subsidiary of corporate interests who will kick his ass to the curb once he's run up some trial balloons for the RNC.

The subject of this thread is a racist anti-semite. And he does not exist in a vacuum.

He exists and is allowed to say the things he is reputed to have said because he has the protection of the law. Except in this case when it is a public official. If he spewed racist or anti-semitic epithets at his neighbour, he probably couldn't even be successfully prosecuted.

There is no question that the American media loves to fan the flames of racism in the US. Fox has been quite masterful in doing this over the years that they have transformed journalism into a cesspool of partisan propaganda designed to ensure that the key demo of angry, scared, old white people stay firmly in the Republican camp.

So what I say based on my studies and experience may not make it necessarily true, but countering with nothing more than saying they may not be true doesn't make the assertions false either.

What bothers me MOST about this story -- is that our elected officials have created this SPECIAL class for themselves -- where THREATENING is a CRIME...

And ERIC CANTOR doesn't support hate crime legislation for OTHER groups that MAY be subjected to threats and violence...

I remember a DECADE ago when I moved in with my partner -- WITHIN the FIRST week I was permanently living there -- someone left a MURDERED animal on our front porch -- We called the police, and the officer just shrugged and said that maybe another animal had killed and left it there accidentally...

While I agree with the sentiment that [STRIKE]whores[/STRIKE] politicians act as if they're kings in todays society, threatening a person with physical harm IS a crime.
