Re: Man wronfully imprisoned for 2 decades won't get jack shit from the state
Specifically, it goes back to the time when Christians and Muslims raided each other's shipping and sold crew and passengers into slavery, regardless of race. But this caused political problems, so both sides tacitly agreed that they'd enslave Africans who were neither Christian nor Muslim -- and on the Christian side, that required theological justification, so the self-justifying theologians of the day concocted the theory that Africans are cursed descendants of Ham and so deserved to be enslaved. And despite the outcry by many, many Christians that this was wrong, the wealthy benefitted from it, so those voices were ignored.
Oh spare me, Trump being a racist didn't make it "acceptable" to anyone who wasn't already a racist.
Climb down off that high horse. If Canada has the same problems, then obviously making "it" illegal didn't work. Your racists aren't in caves, they are right where they've always been. So are ours and frankly after that fiasco with Trump, our racists crawled right back where they came from - because it was obvious to everyone that Trump didn't make "it" acceptable.
The "trail" of racism goes back to Europe.
