I didn't claim you do defend everyone. Nor did I claim that any of the "elements" Marcus needs to do his job make him homophobic. I'm sure most of the time he isn't and you experience with him is based in an enviroment where that would have been accepted...unlike Next Door where is condoned even encouraged.

I think you probally got a look at the "real" Marcus and the Next Door version is all posturing. It's just a pity they encourage it.

I don't dislike Marcus. I just think if we are going to support these gay4payers then when they do homophobic things it should be put out there. Putting these guys in the Next Door enviroment that encourages them to "not be to gay" and to propagates the idea that bottoming or sucking cock makes you lesser brings out something much uglier. Rod and Marcus, along with Torro and Huntsman, have taken to "insulting" each other by calling each other "bottoms" now instead of "faggot" but context clearly reveals what the implication is "you like having gay sex but I'm just doing it to get paid".

My friend and I routinely call each other 'faggot' and 'homo'. It's all in fun.

As for catching. As Kurt correctly pointed out being on the receiving end is, if anything, hetero-affirming since you don't have to be aroused to do it.

I'm sure Marcus is a sweet as he looks. A chill, no harm no foul, stand-up kind of guy. As with all of these guys, I hope he's managing to save some $$ and is working on something to set him up for a post-porn career.

Stephen clearly shows favoritism to his "straight" performers.

That is what I meant by my comments regarding Marcus. It is that anti-gay, prove your straight, homophobic enviroment that Next Door encourages that lead to that behavior and using homophobic slurs. It amazes me that in any other industry tweeting or using homophobic slurs would result in the user at least issuing some kind of apology but for a company that serves gay men every "straight" performer on their roster from Kevin Crowes to Tyler Torro to James Huntsman to Cody Cummings to Rod Daily to Marcus Mojo have been caught tweeting, using, or blogging those homophobic epithets (faggot, queer, etc.)with no consequence.

I don't think it is only their fault- the straight performers are encouraged to think of gay men as less than and to ignore anything that isn't high praise. That leads to a enviroment that isn't just homophobic but breeds a sense of arrogance and entitlement in them. That is my point.

Actually his very first interview with NDS , a few years ago,he clearly said that he didn't like having sex with men and he wasn't going to any more. Then he didn't get the straight work he wanted and came back to gay porn to work with other sites before signing an exclusive with Jet Set. After his contract with them ran out he worked with several other studios before signing with Next Door again. There isn't any doubt that he signed with Next Door because it is the only studio where he can get paid a gay scene rate to film with women. He was actually supposed to film lot more straight scenes- the original number was around 25% but his straight scenes usually cause backlash and then he was dating a woman this past summer and now he is dating Chelsie.

I have nothing against Marcus- I hate the way Next Door functions, never doubt that, but the performers are only doing what the company tolerates/allows/encourages.

I'm just telling what I know.

As for what I think, I think Marcus is bisexual but can't shake the conditioning that you only have relationships with women. Because of his job he gets to have sex with men without the risk of developing any feelings or having to "date".
