I'm in awe. My partner and I got our marriage license today in NYC for our marriage on November 12th. Strange how it felt knowing that earlier this year we would have been refused and today we were congratulated after the license was handed to us. Well, I had tears in my eyes!

I was in NYC during the Sonewall Riots in 1969. I'm amazed at how fast things have changed in my lifetime and sad when I think of thousands of years of oppression. Today I thank everyone who fought for me without knowing I existed.

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!

Well congrats.

Hopefully all the countries will change.

Congratulations as well! Things have indeed changed quite alot in the last 40 years. I hope the preparations for the marriage on 12 November are running smooth.

Good luck!

Congratulations and thank you for remaining strong through all those years! Im sure you have helped open the pathways for my generation. Much respect sir!

Thanks to all with heartfelt appreciation. It was a thrilling day today and tomorrow we see the Episcopal priest who will jointly have the ceremony together with a non-denominational celebrant we already know. We checked out a couple of piano bar venues to take our guests to after dinner and we finalized our wedding cake order. I had tears streaming down my face as we left the city clerk's office this morning.

Congratulations - - it is important isn't it. It is good to be treated equal. I'm so happy for you and your partner. Congratulations - continue to celebrate your life!

I'm so pleased to share this joy. Getting the license in NY last Monday was surreal. Being out and about in NY was so fun. People in restaurants and shops would overhear our conversations and offer congratulations and then go on to tell us of gay relatives.

It's just been festive. The episcopal priest is terrific as is the co-celebrant.

I'm going to be a husband and have a husband one week from today! (!)

How awesome!!! I am so happy for you both!!! I hope one day to find that happiness too!!!! All the best!!!:=D:

Tommorrow is the day!!

Just got in from our pre-nuptial dinner. Small group of twenty to be on hand tomorrow for the church wedding and dinner. I'm going to have a husband and be a husband!!!

Thanks guys for all the good wishes. And, no, we are not registered. Actually, never imagining we'd be able to do this we pulled out all the stops for a blessing ceremony 8 years ago. We registered then and, as I told a friend of mine, if we bring one more thing into the house, the whole place will fall down.

I've got butterflies!

You guys are the best and you're all groomsmen in my eye, or groomsmaids, if you'd prefer. ;)

Congrats! Are you going to change your names?

We live in a state with a particularly horrible constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage. We legally changed our names right after that admendment passed.
