I can't recommend the Martha Stewart documentary enough and full disclosure, after mocking her in the 80's I became one of her die-hard fans. She taught me so fucking much. (HerMom too). If the Us had DameHood, she would be one.

While I don't like how Mark Burnett helped turn Martha's show away from teaching to shallow entertainment and shilling product, there were magical moments.

Anf her time with Robin Williams was among them.

I like her too, inspire of it all.. I lived near her in NY, she tried to trademark the towns name for a line of paint or something. Her neighbors were not pleased and let her know in clear terms....she finally backed down. A lot of her recipes don't work but her coconut layer cake is to die for...

Martha ran a series in the 80's on "Hosting an Event: Tips and Advice".
As a teacher, Martha earned respect Organization beats Chaos - all the time.

We still use her puff pastry recipe, her mom's pierogies recipe and of course her Turkey 101.

I saw the second of the shows. Interesting, but I wish she had seemed happier. Was it the editing? Would a different cut have portrayed a different Martha? (I've read she was not happy with the resulting series.)

Biggest surprise was that she photocopied all of her desperate letters to Andy Stewart as their marriage was unravelling. Second biggest surprise is that she allowed them to be quoted onscreen. Third was that the prosecutor who decided--no doubt as a career move to great to be passed up--to charge her for a minor offense and managed to send her to prison--was none other than James Comey the incompetent, partisan head of the FBI.

A few years ago, I was asked to be in a reality show but turned it down saying I was not ready for prime time. Which was and remains true. I also feared how I would be made to appear after the editors had their hand in creating a story.
