Maybe part of what you perceive to be anger is Mr. Bashir’s British humor. It is sarcastic, dry, and often delivered under the guise of spontaneity.

We tease our friends. We use sarcasm as a shield and a weapon. We avoid sincerity until it’s absolutely necessary. We mercilessly take the piss out of people we like or dislike basically. I watch his show fairly often and can relate that “the ooze” comes across (to me) more as entertaining humor. Temper? Nah. He may seem excitable, but that’s part of his technique.

Oh~ and if you’ve watched him since this thread began, it’s obvious he’s putting forth an effort to conform to this new requirement for PC niceness. He still lets other guests say controversial things, but he himself, not so much. We’ll see if he loosens up again as time goes along.

It is called 'changing the channel'. It is how I never have to sit through the agonizing minutes of watching the angry men and women on FOX when their tempers explode every day over some outrage. Equally, it prevents me from the outrage on MSNBC. I don't need other people to script my anger for me.

I have often wanted to tell Paling to 'Eat Shit', or 'mangez le merde' since she first strode onto the national political stage in 2008 and I have a chocolate pie recipe from 'The Help', that I'm sure she'd love.
