Mary Tyler Moore, dead...

Yea...she was hanging on and struggling with health issues. :(

Classy act.

I have missed her for years.

I am sorry to hear that news, I have alway enjoyed her in whatever she did.

Very sorry to read about this. Mary had a lot of pain in her life due to her son's early tragic death and the ramifications of dealing with living with diabetes. Especially got tough later in life when complications and other health issues cropped up. A wonderful, graceful woman who delighted and entertained millions around the world and as Mary Richards, the first independent, single career woman to make an impact on our television screens, inspired so many. RIP, Mary and thanks for the love and laughter!

The theme to her TV show said it all about Mary Tyler Moore...

Who can turn the world on with her smile?
Who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?
Well it's you girl, and you should know it
With each glance and every little movement you show it
Love is all around, no need to waste it
You can never tell, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
You're gonna make it after all
How will you make it on your own?
This world is awfully big, girl this time you're all alone
But it's time you started living
It's time you let someone else do some giving
Love is all around, no need to waste it
You can never tell, why don't you take it
You might just make it after all
You might just make it after all

Rest in peace, Mary. You earned it, after all!

Mary has been a part of my life since I was a kid, from her being a pair of legs for the most part on Richard Diamond, to getting her toe stuck in a faucet on the Dick Van Dike Show, to a flapper in Thoroughly Modern Millie, to Rhoda's and Phyllis' best friend, to a grieving and bitter mother in Ordinary People, to... well, her IMDp page has a... 'few' more listings.

She will be sadly missed.

Never forget her incredible performance in Ordinary People.

It was wrenching.

for a person who seemed to have a perfect life---she suffered many personal tragedies in her life--- I remember when Oprah had her on as Oprah said she was one of the biggest inspirations in her life as a little girl. RIP

I'm so sad to have to say goodbye to Mary. She was a wonderful actress and a top notch comedian.

One of her funniest roles was in the 1968 movie, "What's So Bad About Feeling Good?"

I will always miss MTM for her role in Ordinary People. There was something insightful in her portrayal of that ice queen. She could see herself with a bit of inner horror but couldn't not be who she was somehow. It was riveting. I recognized something profound in that performance, and I am yet grateful for it.

She was just the exemplar for so many of us in her role on her own show, an inspiration for us in how to stand up to bullies, to throw off those who would weigh us down, and at the same time, she blundered so as to make her human so we wouldn't look up too much.

I was saddened today the moment I read of her death. It was time, but too soon even so.

God bless you, Mary Tyler Moore, for the gift you were and are to so many of us.

She was such a classy lady and a great actress.

This is my favorite:
