Mass murderer Anders Breivik wins civil human rights lawsuit

Logically justice, he is 110% guilty,
why don't the state just use his organs to help sick people ?

Frankly I would choose death over receiving one of his organs or any tissue.

ugh.

Maybe that's why he brought the lawsuit--in solitary, he has no one to donate his organ to.

Just like free speech, the test of a universal human rights charter is the implementation of it.

If you withhold it because the person says or does something heinous, then ask, what good is it to declare the need for a charter of rights, then deny it despite agreeing that it should cover everyone?

Breivik deserves mixing in with other inmates. Maybe more contact will mean he will get the comeuppance he probably deserves. Let's see if he wants to go back into solitary after that...

What is the aim of punishment?

If the aim of punishment is that Breivik is incapacitated from doing further harm, I'm satisfied.

If the aim of punishment is bloodlust and retribution, Norway could have made a worse decision. Minority opinion I suppose, but I don't think the satisfaction we take in vengeance has anything at all to do with virtue or justice.

The aim for Norway, probably, is preventative detention.
Well meaning people argue that preventative detention (locking away dangerous people for the protection of society), also breaches the prisoner's human rights.
It's a situation where the rights of the majority are balanced against the rights of the individual.

I believe that some people need to be locked away if they're still considered a danger to society, but I don't believe in vengeance. He still has (or should have) basic human rights.

More continental-Europe liberal 'fuck general society and victims' families, its the individual's Human Rights that over-rides all other considerations' wank. The exact same sort of shite that comes out of the European 'Court' of Human Rights. C'mon my British friends - Vote to get out of that rotten hole by voting Yes to Brexit. Hopefully Ireland will follow suit shortly after.

Time rub out the knots with Mr. Cordell :)

I've just been looking at some of the crime scene pics of Breivik's massacre

fuck his human rights...he should be hung upside down and have molten pewter injected into his rectum

:)

My first thought was he should be assigned to a mission to Mars. When they get there, he would be sent out to see if the atmosphere is safe to breathe.

^ And what the fuck does that have to do with anything?

It's your life's mission to shit in every thread you post in. It must be such a misery being you.

...every thread...

Do you expect to get fluffy toys and roses in a thread about a mass-murderer?

I choose to enter and ignore threads just as I do in life. I don't expect threads to come to me to reinforce my wish to live in safe place full of fluffy toys and roses.

Your post had nothing whatsoever to do with Brievik. It did nothing whatsoever to explain why he did as he did. All you've done is to shit on Norway and yet another thread. When are you going to drag Muslim immigrants into it?
