Matt Damon indicated Wednesday that he would make another Bourne sequel if only to express his gratitude. In an interview in Tokyo with the French news agency Agence France Presse, Damon said, "Personally, the character means a lot to me because the character has done so much for my career. You know, it put me in the position where I have a lot more choices of kind of movies I want to make." He said that if director Paul Greengrass asked him to take on the character again, "then I would do it, too. ... I don't think either of us completely put the character to bed yet."

Damn.

And the Bourne series was good.

The fact that Robert Ludlum wrote the series as a trilogy means that there shouldn't be a 4th movie. What material will they be using to adapt the screenplay from?

One of the best trilogies in recent memory, if not of all time.

Leave it at that, please.

There are already 2 more in the series. Ludlum's estate got Eric Van Lustbaden to continue the series, and so far he's written 2 books. So there's material for at least 2 more movies. Plus they could pull a James Bond and come up with completely new material for movies.

I really enjoyed the last one. I thought it was better than the first and second.

But Ludlum's superior writing style is the key reasons that these books became such good movies.

Only for the 1st one. Supremacy and Ultimatum are nothing at all like the books.

Tony Gilroy deserves a lot of credit for his 3 screenplays.

It was a nice series but hollywood needs to learn how to just stop. How to not make countless remakes and beat a series to death with sequels so much that the plummet exponentially in quality. And I didn't really think the series was that amazing. It was decent but the second one didn't make any god damn sense in the grandscheme of things.

I had heard rumors that they were going to make a total of 5 Bourne movies. Hope it isn't true.
