I donated during JUB's fundraising campaign for the Matthew Shepard Foundation shortly after Mark purchased JUB. I've received e-mails ever since. I also follow them on Twitter.
I received this e-mail this morning - in honor of what would have been Matthew's 38th Birthday, Miller-Coors is offering the following Challenge Grant.

[h=2]Double your donation to mark Matthew's Birthday[/h]
It’s been 16 years, and it’s still hard to express just how grateful we are for your dedicated support of the Matthew Shepard Foundation. We are a small organization capable of accomplishing incredible things because of your generosity. Our passion to Erase Hate stems from Matthew’s own aspirations to make the world a more loving, accepting and compassionate place.
If Matt was still with us, he’d be celebrating his 38th birthday this December 1. It’s this time of year that our friends at MillersCoors have given us the special opportunity to double your contributions that directly fund our outreach programs to Erase Hate. Today we kick off a weeklong campaign to honor Matt’s 38th birthday with a goal of raising $38,000. Every dollar you give this week will be match by MillerCoors, doubling the power of your gift.
In order to reach our goal, all it takes is 500 people donating just $38. This gift allows us to continue our work advising productions of The Laramie Project and The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later, conducting outreach in schools and communities across the country to Erase Hate and to be a welcoming, reliable resource for parents, educators and LGBTQ youth. Make your contribution of $38 or more right now!
Even more importantly, your generosity allows the Foundation to expand its outreach and enter new, exciting territory in the fight for equality. Looking ahead, we have just launched a new initiative to expand hate crimes prevention and strengthen existing anti-hate legislation.
By way of Judy and Dennis, Matt’s story and the Foundation’s message is reaching more and more communities across the globe. In this past year alone, the Shepards have visited and spoken out for LGBTQ equality in countries including Jamaica, Taiwan, the Netherlands and Trinidad. At this very moment, they continue to make history as international ambassadors for the LGBTQ community in St. Petersburg and Moscow, Russia, where the country’s anti-gay propaganda laws threaten the safety and security of its residents.
Your donation of $38 or more is fundamental to our success. We maximize the potential of every dollar you give to ensuring a future where hate is replaced with understanding, compassion and acceptance. Please give a tax deductible donation to the Matthew Shepard Foundation today to have your gift doubled, and help us further advance progress in equality for the LGBT community.
All of us here at the Foundation are incredibly grateful to have your support. Thank you.
All the best,
Jason Marsden
