Max Blumenthal, the GOP, and the Religious Right

Could you specify the hate in Blumenthal's presentation?

He focused on naive US students in Israel. Made it look like all young Isreals hated Obama. All the people had US accents not Israel accents.

He made fun tea party protestors calling them "teabaggers".

He made fun of Sarah Palin.

it's been 12 hours since I saw it -- forget the rest.

The hell they don't...they use imprecatory prayer all the time...ie...Imprecatory prayer is prayer asking God to kill, maim, curse, send into eternal damnation, or otherwise harm an enemy. It's called a curse by those who can think...I guess Christians are no different that Black Witches.

Although, I can't judge where anyone is a Christian or not a Christian -- I don't believe a true Christian would pray for God to kill or harm someone they didn't like.

There is work being done to counteract the "steeplejacking" that the crazies have been busy with.

I get a lot of good information at this site.. http://www.talk2action.org/ they work hard at trying to bring the moderate Christians to the forefront...in my view there needs to be much more said by the moderate Christians to counteract these cultish, venal, creeps.

I read the first article at that site and was favorably impressed. I disagree, though, that they should just add more religious symbols to the monument: if it's to war veterans, someone should do a sculpture appropriate to the period, with items and elements recognizable as pertaining to the war -- sort of a 3-D collage. Work into it the symbols of faith that soldiers would have worn or carried: a worn pocket New Testament with the Psalms, a neck cross on a chain, a Star of David, whatever. Don't make religion at all the focus, but the war and those who were it in.

Oh -- and more and more I think Scalia is a loon.

This is the same crap that Glenn Beck puts out. All Max B. and Glen B. are doing is playing to their bases -- fanatics. Selling books, movies, videos, etc.

Factual information? You must be kidding.

You're not providing any factual information,, either, so I went looking for some....

I did some research about Blumenthal online. He is in fact a journalist, though plainly one with a focus/specialty, if not an agenda. So dismissing him as just a blogger doesn't work.

He focused on naive US students in Israel. Made it look like all young Isreals hated Obama. All the people had US accents not Israel accents.

You mean the second video. Yes, that had flaws.

He made fun tea party protestors calling them "teabaggers".

Um, Jack -- they call themselves teabaggers. I had a good half dozen e-mails from acquaintances, asking me to "go teabagging" and "be a teabagger" with them, and two from organizations I keep an eye on to "Come teabag America!" and such.
That's what's funny about it, is that they use the term themselves... almost begging to be made fun of.

Heck, I'm thinking of handing out te bags for Halloween. It would be fun if I could get some with Obama's picture on them, because it would totally confuse people.

He made fun of Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin practically begs to be made fun of.

If that bothers you, tell you what: you get me an invite to her house, and if I can see Russia from her back porch, I'll apologize.

Bingo.

Given my experience, I'd say that at least 1/3 of the people in the Religious Right in America are no Christians, but are heretics in need of rebuking, condemning, and serious chastisement.

That may be so Jack but I don't see that mattering to the millions that believe the devil is real and inhabits people....do you? They are burning children that have been identified as witches...not to mention the gay attacks. How much political, controlling power do people like this have? Why do we have separation of Church and State?

Wow...

You do know that many Israelis have duel citizenship? The accent is American...the attitude may be also, however they were Israeli...they have idiots even in Israel and not all Israelis agree with their government.

Jack, they call themselves "teabaggers" and like Palin are unintentionally funny as hell. I can't take seriously ideas and people who are so silly they make me laugh.
