I'm a lifelong Democrat from a family of Democrats and even my grandparents, who were immigrants btw, were Democrats. However, we have always been antisocialist, so I cannot support Obama. I'm from a large Czech-Croatian family of Democrats who will all be voting for John McCain.

Ummm...yeah. Because I equate black-white racism with white-black racism. Call me crazy. Furthermore, he (by his own admission) teaches Black Liberation Theology. Which is a bigoted, racist religious view based on and essentially invented by James Cone; who is in fact a racist.

I've read through many of Wright's speeches, and what I see is nothing like anything the KKK subscribes to. There's a difference between being racist against a certain group of people because you hate them for being who they are/you think they're inherently inferior to you, and being resentful and angry toward a group of people for the things they have done to your people, to the country as a whole, and to other countries.

Surely you know that "politicas makes strange bedfellows". McCain needed someone who could hammer this point home to as many people as quickly as possible. It so happened that that person was this guy. Some would call that "having no ethics". Others would call it "being willing to overlook a past grudge to work on a current one".

It has nothing to do with credibility. We've seen policitians tear each other to pieces, and then ask one another to be their running mates. It's not at all uncommon to find two people, two groups of people, two nationalities who fought against each other bitterly to suddenly team up to fight a bigger enemy.

One could argue that this shows that McCain is a "bigger man", since he won't let past disputes stand in his way of what he feels needs to be done.

This guy might have cost McCain the nomination in '00, but he no doubt sees a bigger threat now. And he no doubt sees a larger paycheck. If that's not American, I have no idea what is.
