PRO or AGAINST? and WHY? should marijuana be legal to those who "qualify"? or should it be illegal to all? should it be illegal at all?................

thats true. i think one reason why they wont legalize it is due to the fear of everyone smoking it and being high all the time, i really doubt that'll happen though.

The case for medical use is even stronger: A friend of the family has multiples sclerosis. She used to be full of energy - we love her to bits... Anyway, when she goes through her bad phases, she really needs all the help that she can get to make life more bearable.

I too have MS, but fortunately, I do not have a lot of pain and don't require specific pain management atm. If that ever does become an issue, I would cetainly hope that it will be avaliable to me and legal. This will only happen after we kick the Bush-loving conservative assholes out of the Canadian Parliament in our next election.

legalize it.

create jobs, add a new tax base, eliminate a lot of extraneous court time and the extreme costs in money and manpower to enforce antiquated laws.

besides, those that want it, get it. those that don't, won't. put it under the same/similar codes of alcohol and tobacco and maybe, just maybe this will stem the exposure of many people to other more nefarious and detrimental products made available through the current (illegal) supply sources.

well, that's my story and i'm smoking to it. (just kidding, haven't been exposed to that environment since college/military)

The use of marijauna for medicinal purposes is legal in California and several other states. The Feds need to admit that they're not winning the so called war on drugs. Legalize, regulate for quality and tax the users to pay for education and medical programs. People use drugs whether they are prescribed on not. The problems occur when unregulated drugs have more harmful substances added in.

Caffeine is a drug and it is added to many foods and drinks. Cocaine was part of the original coca-cola formula. I quess the Feds thought too many people are having a too good-a-time and it was taken out.

I personally don't smoke it, but they might as well legalize it for medical purposes. It's not even half as harmful, addictive or dangerous as some of the crap they prescribe to people.

Legalize it! Not just medical, but casual use as well.

But it will never happen, because individuals can grow it too easily, and the humongous corporate profit mavens miss out.

Even things like fluoridated toothpaste (where you are to call a POISON CONTROL CENTRE if you swallow some) are probably more dangerous than ganja.

I don't believe the hype that marijuana has never killed anybody, though, either. There have probably been rare instances where a marijuana high escalated someone's potential heart attack into something real, for example. However pharmaceuticals, medical errors, etc. have killed far more people - as well as medical neglect.

I support FULL LEGALIZATION of Marijuana.

Unfortunately, given the current political climate, that is unlikely to happen in the US in my lifetime.

Medical Usage will probably be approved by the Federal government within the next 6 years, after we elect a NEW Congress and a NEW President.
