Mediocrity of mediocrities

To the naturally superior, definitely. That's why I am eternally grateful that I am not you.

Are you implying that I consider myself superior? Then why wouldn't I rather be enjoying it than complaining about something that, according to that comment, I am deprived of?

No, I'm not implying that you consider yourself superior. I'm stating outright that you consider yourself superior. And honestly, nothing you've ever said has given me cause to doubt it. I fully assume that you're a superior stuck on a planet of inferiors, and I honestly believe that's a terrible burden for anybody to have to endure. I seriously am happy I'm not in your position.

So you are saying that you consider yourself superior and, with your comments, you are trying to fake that you do not to hate someone who is not as simple and insecure as you.

If was looking for a panda gif to cheer you up, but came across this fellow,

Our generations Liberace, if i'm not mistaken.

Cheer me up? Why? Am I blue or something and I haven't noticed it?

As far as I know, Liberace was gaudy in his appearance, but not so much in his playing: that guy, I DO know, is the exact opposite of that.

I agree with you, Belamo.

You believe is striving for better things, you're interested in culture. Everybody else is interested in Pop-culture.

Andy Warhol gave permission for fools to waste their time and money on trash. Everything becomes a joke and is excused because there's money to be made from popularism and trash culture.

You've obviously superior at logic puzzles, because I already have lost the plot. :) I don't consider myself superior to much of anybody, I don't think.

I do consider you superior to most everybody. And the few "superior" people I have come across are nearly always very very unhappy. They are fated to live in a world that can't keep up with them. The only way they can interact with most of humanity is to dumb things (for them) WAY down. I had one tell me "It's like living in a world of nothing but four-year-olds, built for four-year-olds." Such a world must be maddening at every turn.

It is for this reason that I'm happy that I am not you.

You can't appreciate Warhol? You are an ignorant fool!

If you knew me better that by a few scattered lines along five thousand or fifteen thousands posts or, better, if you could READ thoroughly through them, you would have realized that I am not the kind of stupid that suffers that much because of that, for all my Pococuranté tag

No. The meaning of my Pococurantism is not so much weariness as moments of deceleration in a nature that is meant to be always in perpetual motion and at a certain speed: my unhappiness has never been derived from the silly idea that everything is shit or the like, but that I am not waddling through it with all my might and main. Pococurantism, the real one, and what you describe, are PASSIVE attitudes: I am anything but passive... even on the rare occasions (well, maybe with the only exclusion of the first time) in which I have bottomed.

I think there's a split between those who make culture and those who make money by retailing other people's culture.

The world sees money as more important than culture viz Erik Rhodes' balloon-man body and the Wacko Jacko's face.

I ca not possibly be superior NOW (apart from my most obvious and immediate borken English) because I spent too much time in the past trying to figure out how to develop all my potential.

So you're even superior to the unhappy superiors I've met before? Damn.

Lex
Oh please, there are zillions of people who are superior to "superior people": not that many things are easier and more common.

I think there's a split between those who make culture and those who make money by retailing other people's culture.

It's nice that you deign to attempt to explain your position to me, but I'm afraid it's going to be all for naught. But perhaps somebody else can get something out of it.

I'm enjoying that version of the Beethoven Hammerklavier; it's got a real variation of tempo in it.... and syncopation... it's like that moment near the climax of the Eroica when it almost bursts into 'boogie-woogie'.
