Joan Heffington is running for governor of Kansas.

One of her goals, if elected is to "Require that a Biblical and Constitutional reason exist for the passage of any new laws".

One of her credits is that she had a poem published.

Her non-profit includes GOD as a board member (http://www.assocforhonestattys.com/html/about_us.html)

And - http://cjonline.com/opinion/2010-07-26/column_gop_candidate_says_secret_forces_are_at_work - in an interview she revealed:

* The state of Kansas is operating under a dictatorial French law that the CIA helped establish here in the 1950s
*she learned operatives implanted microchips in a man who had refused to give the government a lucrative invention he had created. The microchips were transported through a window and into the man's body using a satellite, she said. "The technology is so advanced that they can do it that way," she said.

I don't know how such an attractive drag queen could have such a lousy campaign!

I hope she wins. It will give a whole to meaning to the book title, "What's the Matter with Kansas."

Mercury, she didn't even get the Republican nomination, nor did she even come close. So what is the point of this? I can guess.

To point out in bright lights and horns and whistles what the GOP represents,at least to the "progressive" minded civilized folks stuck living in medieval America.

If that is what the GOP represents why didn't she win the nomination?

With any luck a twister will come along, blow the dumbcunt clear to OZ and then it'll be the munchkins' problem.

Christ, he/she does look like a drag queen. Have to admit it's an attractive suit tho. Needs to lighten up a bit on the make-up. Makes her look like a trollop.

What's this fascination with this ancient religion anyway? I thought people were more advanced than this but I guess not. Certain Americans criticize Islam extremism and here we have our own version of a religious extremist. In this man/woman's case a Burqa would be more flattering to him/her.

Yikes! But laikaNYC is right here. She is a loon with no real chance of winning, a parody of certiain political views more than a champion of them.

Some people are so singularly partisan that they can't even see the point in posting anything that isn't reducible to a partisan attack.

Someone who is that singularly, obsessively and blindly partisan would ask what's the point of this if there's no clear indictment of a political party.

The point is that Ms. Heffington is that funny mix of amusing and horrific in and of herself.

There are loons on all sides, so that line of argumentation ends here.

What's your point? Would you be singing the same tune if Laika or someone else started threads highlighting loons in the democratic party?

probably

who knows

why don't you pick out the looniest democrat you know and make a thread about their failed bid for office?

Meh. That's not how I roll. I know there are loony democrats and republicans, but to be honest, I don't care enough about them to post a thread about it. It'd be a waste of time.

thats probably why you are one of the conservatives here that I get along with and like to talk to.

nevertheless....HA

this chick is a nutcase...

and from what I can see, all people from all parties agree. I think it illustrates the fractures in the conservative movement, and that there are so many different ways of describing what a conservative is.

That Tancredo business is proving to be a vote buster for the repubs, and if this woman decides to make an indie run, she could split the conservative vote.

Does anyone know if she is considering an Indie run?

And party wasn't even mentioned in the OP.

Like I said, some people can only see things as partisan, and can't take any other approach.
