Meet Me - the GAY Muslim

Welcome! This is one of the best forums of JUB. I love reading the posts from other spiritual men. Enjoy your time here, and post often.

good lord guys

the muslims take a few weeks off for ramadan and these comments get out of controll

Christianity has far more edicts against homosexuality than Islam does.

only seven nations have Sharia law and they ahve nothing to do with islam no matter what they may say

Jesus said that no one should judge his fellow man, and yet we have abortion clinics blowing up in the heartland of america... so much for vengeance beign the lords teritory

and there is a fundamental command of Mohammed

" let there be no compulsion in religion"

therefore by strict interpretation of the Koran, any man that tries to compelanother man with a law to follow Islam has discounted himself as a Muslim and is an outcast.

Saying that the terrorists are model muslims is like saying jim jones and guyana are the perfect model for christianity.

honestly

i just don't know why common sense and dignity can't be a base line requirement of all spiritual people. If we can't respect each other then how can we expect others to?

there are certain bottom line behaviors that define you. they are not what you call yourself, they are how you conduct yourself.

yuo cant call yourself a christian unless you act like one, even if you are the pope himself ( and no, thats no slam to his Holiness). You can't call yourself a muslim if you advocate sharia law or suicide bombings. PERIOD. If you don't walk the walk then the talk is irrelevant.

by the looks of this thread it would seem theres alot of talking and not a whole lot of walking

uuuughhh

Hey All,

I'm American but I've lived in London for the past 7 years, ever since college.

Anyhoo, I was born and grew up a practicing Muslim.

Realized I was gay, father disowned me, but the rest of the family showed me love.

I'm a firm beliver in the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh)and the teachings of the Holy Qur'an but I am also a proud gay man.

I dont go to the mosque that much anymore, because these Imams are homophobic assholes.....but I still belive in Allah all that?

Can ya understand or is it too complicated?

i think it goes the same to me. most muslims are extremely homophobic, especially those who live in muslim country like mine. in my environment, i choose not to reveal my sexual orientation and be a proud gay like u. although gay is a taboo subject among muslims, i still believe Allah loves me and I feel blessed with all the things that He gave to me. I'm a gay, but I'm living a happy life, having a perfect relationship with my boyfriend, having a happy family and I landed into a career that I dreamt since my childhood days. Being gay doesn't mean we're not blessed. Thus for all that, I still have a firm belief in Him and don't give a damn to all those homophobic as*holes.

Hi there.

I'm sure there are zillions of other gay muslims out there.....hell, I'm one of them.

I came to this site to, er well, you know, exercise my left wrist...but am pleased to discover this thread.

I still regard myself as a muslim, but have pretty liberal views...as liberal as possible to get. I have many muslim friends, and, unknowinlgly to them, am also very active in London's gay seedy sleazy underwold. Its fab!!

Look forward to talking to all of you, muslim or not. As long as you have horny dirty thoughts..that's all that counts in my book!!

Ali.

good to see ya, boycubali !!

one of my nicknames here is The Mullah of Love...lol

yep there are lots of us here and more getting vocal as of late

its a really good thing for everyone, both muslim and non muslim, to see that we are just liek everyone else

WELCOME !!

Well welcome. i'm new here too lol although i am christian and i may convert to judaism.

it must be hard being a gay muslim. I was a member of several islamic boards and they were horrible towards gays. they would put like "build more cliffs and kill them" or "the punishment for f*gs is death, whether they like it or not. let them all rot" and it was terrible! i hope it's not that bad for you.

and andreus, what did you hear in syria and iraq? i would like to know.

french

after reviewing your ten posts, I am disinclined to consider your request a valid interest in understanding the Muslim people and their beliefs

perhaps when you show a bit more respect to the muslim community, both here at JUB, and in the world in general, we will choose to discuss serious issues and sollutions with you.

since it looks like that isn't part of your agenda, I will just say that you need to learn that encouraging the deportation of an entire people based on their faith is a really ugly idea

perhaps if you reconsider your ideology we can revisit this discussion

until then, lets just avoid each other here on the site ;)

thanks

Nice to see a Muslin thread. I have enjoyed and been encouraged by the various contributions here.

We gay boys have that in common and are brothers together and it is good to understand each other in our differences so we can support each other. Keep up the good discussion guys. We all benefit.

Continue believing. After all faith is in your heart and nobody can dictate you what to believe. But faith without good works is useless.

As a roman catholic and gay *the fatal combination* i can say that christianity is much more intolerant when it comes to homosexuality. The papal inquisition in the middle ages burned so many gays alive at the stake

Let's not forget that gay men were first called faggots during the
inquisition because so many of them were burned at the stake under the feet
of women
(there was a belief that a witch could not burn by sticks "faggots" alone)
that
these men became synonymous with the burning sticks. Joan of Arc had
several
gay men working with her (who were also put to death), as did many wise women of the age who were caught, and burned
alive

bienvenidos to the forum. I hope we can love each other for our differences instead of in spite of them. i'm sure you have a most fascinating life to enrich us with. i am very glad to get the opportunity to welcome you and hope we will learn from each other.

I'm a little late into this conversation, but welcome to the site. I'm one of the Unitarian Pagan folks here. I'm interested in what other people believe and consider it right for them. I may ask questions because I find it the easiest way to understand something, but I don't make fun of religious beliefs.

However if you do end up sinning whilst considering it a sin and not justifying it (as that’s trying to change God’s law) then you are sinful but still considered a Muslim, you only have to confess to God and ask for his forgiveness and remember he's merciful and forgiving and he loves you, my friend told me a saying of the Prophet PBUH which goes something like “if one you sins whilst considering it wrong will not die until he has repented”, at least as a sinful Muslim you have the chance to be redeemed one day, on the other hand if you want to kid your self with a edited Islam then you’re not really a Muslim at all.

I am very sorry, but I have to point out how very unhealthy such a sin/guilt/forgiveness merry-go-round is, psychologically.

It's bad enough when you have some real guilt to deal with. You deal with it. It is seldom a clean and neat process. You reassess, repent, change, atone.

But to live a whole life in the middle of such a cycle when the guilt is artificial or induced, is a little like going through life with shackles on.

kinkikiki, I'm late saying it, but welcome to JUB. I hope you're enjoying yourself!
